Thanks to Rogueone for sharing a bottle. The beer is a deep brownish-amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark malt, fruit and yeast. Rich body with flavors of grainy malt, dark fruits and yeast. The finish is malty with a lightly spiced yeast aftertaste. Above average overall. jtw (1170) - farmington, Michigan, USA - APR 28, 2012

Tap at Barcade, Brooklyn. Golden amber with hardly any head, little lace. Nose is boozy, brown sugar, dark fruits, Belgian candie sugar--quite sweet. Flavor is similar, lotsof Belgian esters, spice, some dark fruit notes. hopscotch (11451) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 23, 2012
Bottle… Hazy burnt-caramel ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma presents dark fruits and spices and phenols that are atypical of most Belgian dark beers. The spiciness is almost Christmas-like in nature. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and modest carbonation. The flavor offers dark fruits, cinnamon, gingerbread and a nice, light tartness. Tangy, dark raisin and gingerbread finish. Bottle courtesy of KickInChalice! cbkschubert (2901) - BFE, Arizona, USA - MAR 28, 2012

Aroma is Belgian candy, esters, and spice. Flavor is sweet malt and fruit with a good bit of spice. The finish has a good bit of spice and is quite smooth. Medium to full body. A nice beer. Thanks Dak. libertine (434) - rochester hills, Michigan, USA - MAR 5, 2012
pours cloudy copper with absolutely no head.no lacing, aroma is floral with what might be nutmeg.flavor is super sharp, soap?hops and soap?this is the third of the winter solstice series and im very dissapointed.all these beers other than the 4d(which i might add is not as good as in the past)are just not good.the lack any lacing or carbonation and seem to have just bad aroma and flavor profiles.if the guys at kuhnhenn read ratebeer ive been a big fan of yours for a few years and i live close by.this could really hurt you.one thing to put out bad beer but when it costs 8 bucks to find out how bad it sucks, thats a kick in the nads kenwall17 (284) - new york, New York, USA - FEB 29, 2012
Nice looking caramel pour. Short lasting head. Not overly appealing taste. Strong something... I may rerate this.
