2007 bottle sampled at cquiroga’s 3rd Annual Woodshop Tasting. This was one of the more interesting beers of the evening, the pour is clear, dark amber with light bubble formation. Crazy weird aroma packed with raisins, potpourri, coriander and a tang I can’t figure out. Almost like juniper berries. Nice flavor that is a mix of more raisin, wild berries and leather. Tart and citric finish with a rounded finish. Alcohol is well-hidden. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 2, 2008
16th Rating from 3rd Annual Woodshop tasting in Temple City, CA. 3/1/08. One hell of a day put on by Cquiroga, thanks for a killer day Chris. Also spent the day there with bikesanbeer, my girlfriend Cyn, wetherel, JohnC, DenverLogan, dirty_martini, jasparg, DrBil, IPAFiend, awaisanen and many others, this was one crazy day. The first 750ml bottle I’ve ever seen from this brewery. Pours brown and bubbly. Nose is sweet with some yeast in it. Taste is sweet and full bodied a very cool beer. The aroma is fruity yeasty. The flavor has some tropical fruit, touch of mint and a bit of hops. different DenverLogan (1228) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - MAR 1, 2008

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2008 On tap: The aroma consists of pineapple, banana, yeast, and moderate alcohol. It’s a hazy brown with some orange highlights and a small beige head. The flavor starts with pineapple and yeast. There is some faint banana in the middle along with some faint chocolate. The finish has a spicy herbal flavor to it along with some moderate alcohol. Full bodied with mild carbonation.

From a 750mL Bottle. Courtesy of CharlesDarwin. Moderately transparent, caramel amber colored pour with a thin head of wispy tan head. Sweet brown sugar and toffee malt aromas combine with some higher alcohols and yeast character to form some pleasing raisin and prune dark fruits. Hints of star anise spice. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated mouthfeel with a somewhat sticky texture. Caramel and biscuit malt flavors, darkened up by raisin and plum. Some lighter coconut notes add a vanillin-like quality. Toward the finish, the spicy phenol notes develop a heavy pepper flavor, sharpened by a bright cardomom or grains of paradise flavor. Finishes dry and nutty with a lingering spice. Thanks, Tom! goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - FEB 18, 2008
Tasting @ Dr. Bill’s (so where are the Cali ratings?). Poured a hazy deep amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was fairly herbal and spicy. The flavor was fruity with some sweetness. Much less herbal and spiced in the flavor than I expected after that aroma. Medium body and kind of dry on the finish. tomaroth (31) - Troy, Michigan, USA - JAN 20, 2008

Dark brown/black colored. This was fairly straightforward. Aroma of dark fruits, some spice, and earthy malt. Taste was dark fruits, banana, spice, hints of chocolate, fairly sweet overall. Not too hard to drink, but lacked the complexity. Still a decent belgian. 3fourths (9349) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 1, 2008
Black colored body with a one inch tan head. Spicy fruit and licorice notes in the nose, light on the palate and thin when tasted, with boozy licorice and spicy cardamom bread notes. Wet, slick, oily olive, lime and licorice flavors makes me worry that something isn’t exactly right with this one. A bit boozy and a bit hard to enjoy.
