Cask-conditioned 3-year Prometheus, at Kuhnhenn’s 10th anniversary party. Aroma of light floral hops, with lots of fruit: grape, plum, and apple. Also had an odd perfumey aroma that I can’t quite place. Smelled really good, though! Taste of yeast, sweet malts, candi sugar. Mouthfeel medium with dry finish. Really great beer!

Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 6, 2011
750mL bottle, June 2007 bottling. Poured deeper garnet with a short, tight-bubbled beige head. The aroma picked up pineapples and black pepper-laden fruit upfront, with darker fruit and a hint of honey beneath.. some subtle oxidation worked fairly well.. a little banana as it warmed up.. came across sweet, but it was very enjoyable. The flavor was very sweet, with dark fruits, bananas, and a touch of bready character leading.. lots of yeast around, with peppery notes and nice dusty stuff.. finished with a lot of sugars, but in a very good way.. tasty and well-balanced. Medium-plus bodied and fairly sweet on the palate, but the yeast worked wonders.. excellent stuff!

Drake (13954) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 10, 2011
Bottle shared by ryan. Pours hazy amber with tiny floaties. Medium sized creamy tan head. Aroma of big spicy notes including nutmeg, citrus peel and spruce along with bread and caramel notes. The taste is spice, caramel, bread, chocolate, candi sugar and cinnamon. Medium-full bodied. Just a tad bit overspiced but still a good beer.

Draught@Hop Devil Grill, NYC
Very dark ruby color, nice big creamy off-white head. Strong berry-like aroma (red- and blackberry). Full-bodied. Liquerish palate. Flavor is dominated by blackberry, then also some sweetish caramelly components and hints of yeast and herbal flavors. Alcoholic punch in the aftertaste. Quite a treat, like drinking cassis liquer.

Tasted at Cleveland tasting on 8-23-08. Thanks!! Pours a dark brown color with off white head. Has aroma of brown sugar, earth, some fruit, and spearmint. Taste is funky, citrus, malt, and more mint with a lot sweetness to it. Overall the sugary sweetness combined with the minty taste makes this a solid brew.

750mL Bottle. 2007. Gusher. Weirs potpourri spice and fig note. Pumpkin bread and raisins. Plum pudding, cinnamon and esters. Wow. Impressive. Hazed red-plum pour, with a hint of purple and a front of white. Flavor is cogent and coherent. A bit sweet, but with plums and figgy. Fluffy. Alcohol is prominent amongst spice, but the depth of the sugars lies in brown, nut clean. A touch abrasive, but actually some what tasty. Surprisingly dry and well-hinted in the belgian yeast character. Phenols aren’t too coarse, character is decent, and spicing is unique and enjoyable. Not bad.

Had at the solstice last year. Black with a small white head. Aroma was of anise adn other spices and some belgian yeastiness. Flavor was pretty smooth but body seemed a little thin overall.
