Notes from summer. Pours a cloudy yellow. Aroma and taste are grapefruit, wheat, and spices. Pailhead (6539) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - MAR 17, 2015
On tap: The aroma consists of big grapefruit, citrus light banana, bubblegum, and clove. It’s a slightly hazy golden-orange with a small white head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. The flavor starts with moderate ruby red grapefruit (very Squirt soda-like), lighter citrus, faint banana, and bubblegum. The finish has more grapefruit peel and light clove. It’s light-medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall, this is really tasty. It makes me think more grapefruit Hefeweizen than Wit. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - FEB 9, 2015
Tap @ Kuhnhenn: Opaque, muddled straw color with rusty yellow towards the center. The soapy, white head leaves modest lacing behind. Aroma is heavy with fresh wheat, clove, yeast, gum, & a very light citric fruity element backing it up. Seems somewhat vague in nature at first, but definitely resembles pure grapefruit after warming a bit. Flavor full of wheat, lovely grapefruit flesh; semi-tart & lightly bitter, little bits of earthy hops, bubblegum, heavy bready yeast, mild clove, & a light taffy finish. Citric grapefruit notes still linger a bit in the aftertaste. Medium mouth feel, somewhat creamy. Really delicious witbier, would love to see this more often. Pint at Kuhnhenn on 3/30/13. Opaque yellow pour with a medium white head. Aroma of grapefruit, banana and a zesty peppery yeast character. Malty flavor with big citrus character (lemon, orange and grapefruit) and some banana before a zesty finish. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 20, 2013
This poured a bright cloudy yellow color with a pinkish hue and a small white head. Aroma was of wheat grain and grapefruits. Flavor was similar, not too tart from the grapefruit, but flavor was definitely there. Not made poorly, i’m just not a big fan of grapefruits.
