Bottle at James’ mead tasting. Pours a clear golden orange with a thin white head. Old malt and a touch of sweetness. A bit of age and oxidization. Sweet and toasty, slight sour touches around the edges. Sweet malt on the finish. Radek Kliber (7320) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - AUG 16, 2011

Thanks to Jale for picking this up for me at Summer Solstice, 2011 bottle... pours a bright and clear dark gold, bright white head with a great ring and lace, looks great... the nose has lots of sweet malt and alcohol on the end, a bit of floral musk but pretty muted, this could use some work... the taste is super sweet and alcohol too, doesn’t really taste like a saison at all... disappointed in this one ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - MAY 1, 2010
Couple year old bottle shared by the Kuhnhenn brothers. Cloudy pale body with a large white head. Perfume and flowers in the nose along with dough, cotton candy and a touch of honey. The taste is light to moderately sweet, lightly bitter with herbal/floral hops, cotton candy and pears; Just a touch of oxidation, but it goes well with the dusty yeast. Medium body is very soft with moderate carbonation.

Had a Kuhnhenn Summer Solstice. Pours page yellow with thin white head. Aroma of lemon, cloves, wheat. Tastes of light citrus, wheat, cloves, coriander. Quenching medium mouthfeel. Pretty decent saison. Styles (2014) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - MAY 16, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2011 Bottle shared by the brothers K, and on tap. Hazy dark golden, with average white head. Aroma has a nice balance of floral and citrus up front, fruity esters, light pepper. faint grass, light pils malt background. Flavor on par, pils malt comes through a little more. For everything going on, really clean. Could be a tad drier. Medium carbonation. Well done. Pailhead (6539) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - FEB 10, 2007
On tap: The aroma has strong yeasty notes with moderate apple, peach, and faint spice. It’s a transparent golden-orange with a small white head. The flavor starts with a big yeasty kick. There is moderate apple in the middle and finishes mildly spicey with a hint of sourness. I have to say I’m pretty suprised by the overall rating. At the brewpub, one additional reason to go there. Bit of alcohol incredibly in the aroma. Yellow with a bit of foam. Bold taste with tartness, then honey and spices aftertaste.Honey offsets the dryness characteristic of this style. Aggressive carbonation. bgburdman9 (861) - columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 7, 2007
On tap at the brewery. Fruity and citrusy in the aroma with a little funkiness but its very light. Pretty sweet but still pretty good overall. I thought this would be a little higher when i looked it up.
