Pours a light black with a disappointing total lack of carbonation, nada...A light aroma but very intriguing and complex. Very matly balance of sweet chocolate, vanlla, light coffee finish but not bitter coffee, a cool peat moss underlies everything...The taste is a lot of the aroma, lightly sweet, a little coffee, just not a ton going on to keep me wanting to drink...The feel is fine, nothing special...Drinkability is off the hook good, no way in hell you canll this is 18%, crushed this bottle in like 10 minutes.
A very up and down for kunhenn, but the aroma and drinkability factor to get you messed up quickly makes it worth trying.

sampled at last summer’s Michigan Brewer’s Fest - This one was listed at 19% at the festival. It pours black and smells of dark roast malt, alcohol, and chocolate. The flavor is of really intense malt with chocolate, licorice, and alcohol. It’s full bodied, rather harsh, and very warming thanks to that huge alcohol content. It’s extremely good now and I suspect will be better when some age tones down the harshness of the high alcohol content. Slipstream (2719) - USA - MAY 11, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 14, 2013 On tap at RnH Kuhnhenn event, and later on at Good Beer. Powerful and complex. Very rich and roasty coffee aroma. Flavors of dark bread, lime, espresso, and bran muffin. Some astringent hoppiness too. Surprisingly, for a beer this potent, it is not too sweet, and the alcohol is not that prominent in the flavor. Another impressive creation by Kuhnhenn. phaleslu (10890) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 27, 2011
12 oz. bottle shared by jckp64- thanks again, John! 2007 vintage. 18% ABV?! I had no idea. Didn’t see that on the bottle. Makes sense, though. Pours a dark, opaque brown with a big, foamy brown head that doesn’t take long to settle down. The aroma shows some oxidization on top of milk chocolate, earth, molasses, and caramel malts. Less oxidation shows up in the flavor, which has dark fruits, chocolate, roasted malts, rust, molasses, and some warming booze. Medium-full bodied, with a smooth, warming mouthfeel and low carbonation. Interesting imperial stout, but I’d probably wait less than 4 years to crack it next time.

Bottle 12fl.oz. @ The Danish Summer Gathering, TFODRBSG11.
[ Courtesy of Secret Summer Santa & Doodler ]. Clear dark black brown colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, oxidide, alcohol notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dark malt, dark dried berries, raisin, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat to soft, finish feel is light to moderate alcohlic.
Bottle 33 cl, trade. Pours oily pitch black with a small brown head leaving just a rim of bubbles around the beer. Aroma is heavy of sweet molassis, roasted malts, dark fruits, soy, chocolate, coffee and alcohol. Flavor is fullbodied sweet, roasted, meaty, soy, fruity, dark fruits and bitter. Finishes bitte meaty roasted and bitter. Maybe a bit too boozy but I think the sweetness mates well with the heavy body and alcohol, very much in my taste,
