Draft sample at MBGWF 2011. Poured hazy reddiah amber with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy fruit, dough and spice aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy spice and fruit sweet flavor with a medium to heavy spice sweet finish of moderated duration. Refreshing complex beer.

A bizarre tasting brew that does indeed bring to mind fruitcake. Not a huge fan of it. BeerandBlues2 (13697) - Escondido, California, USA - APR 21, 2013
Bottle received via trade with FlandersNed. Pours clear tawny with a small, bubbly off-white head, short retention with spare to no lacing. Aroma is raspberry dominant with fig and raisins with nuts and toast malt. Flavor is lightly tart dried fruits, toast and nutty malt with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a hazy brownish-orange color with a medium beige head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Spicy aroma of coriander and anise with some malt in the background. Medium body with a sweet spice character and flavors of malt, pine and fruit. The finish is sweet with a lingering spice aftertaste. Above average overall. bu11zeye (13140) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - FEB 15, 2013

On tap at Kuhnhenn Winter Solstice Night Two. Brown and lacey. Citrus and ginger. A big nose of spices. Some sugar. A sipper, yet drinkability assured. Nothing like any xmas beer head before. deyholla (12031) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 21, 2011
On tap at the 2011 Kuhnhenn’s Winter Solstice. Pours a hazy rusty amber with a light brown head that dissipates quickly and nearly completely. Aroma is full of spice and fruitcake with a strong stollen backing note. Flavor begins with lots of spice and is joined by bread, grains and fruitcake which is a bit odd. Overly spiced. b3shine (9072) - Indiana, USA - JAN 3, 2013
Bottle to snifter (shared with the wife; thanks mikem409). Looks good; an almost completely opaque reddish-brown with thin off-white lacing. Smells of malt and fruitcake. Tastes like it smells with a nice, clean finish. Drinks easier than 9% too. My wife and I both enjoyed this one (and I don’t even like fruitcake). Poured up on tap at the Kuhnhenn brewpub with deep copper body and off white head. The aroma is like citrus and pineapple followed by red wine, various spicy notes and then orange peel at the end of the draw. The taste is spicy with ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon as well as producing notes of orange peel and cloves. I also get plums and raisins heading toward a faint pepperiness. This one poured a murky brown color with a beige head. Aroma was of caramel, dark fruits, and spices, similar to a fruitcake. Flavor was more of the fruity side, very sweet, a lot like medicinal cherry cough syrup. Not too good.
