Poured a golden color with a white head. Aroma was of grassy hops and pale malt. Flavor similar, a little sweet and missing that doughy cracker character I like from a good kolsch tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - FEB 11, 2015
Tap @ Kuhnhenn: Brilliant gold-yellow color with decent clarity; filled with a minor chill haze & topped with a ghost-white blanket of foam. Lots of carbonation bubble steams jettisoning towards the top. Aroma of grains, musky hop leaves, apple skins, a touch of citrus, & some mildly sweet cereal notes. Slightly nebulous "spice" to it, too? Taking a sip, that spice seems to be peppercorn. Not sure if this beer has peppercorn in it (don’t think so) but it sure tastes like it. Gives a nice, spicy bite to the flavor. Sounds weird, but it works. Leafy hop notes, mildly bitter & slightly earthy with backing flavors of heavy cereal grains, pale malt sweetness, crisp apple skins, citrus zest, & a bit of bready yeast. That moderate spicy tone lingers in the aftertaste. Crisp body leaves a mostly dry finish. Quaffable as hell. Really enjoyed this one, pretty different & tasty Kolsch. Draft at Kuhnhenn, listed at 4%. Pours a clear pale gold color with a small frothy head that lingers nicely. Aroma is sweet grain with a very light fruitiness. Taste starts with sweet grain, a bit of straw and grass. Very light flowers and fruit in the finish. Medium body, nice smooth mouthfeel. Crisp finish. A nice summer beer. jredmond (8518) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 9, 2012
Draft at Barcade with Andrew and Brendan. Pours a clear golden body with frothy white head and light lacing. Aroma is sweet straw, fruity malts and light grain. Mouthfeel is clean, refreshing and crisp but sort of ends with a slightly unpleasant grainy finish. Ok beer, above average for a Kolsch. hivemind (919) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 8, 2012
Tap @ Barcade for Kuhnhenn event w James and Andy. Pale gold, no head or lacing, in shaker. Aroma is butter, straw, soily grassy zoo enclosure. Flavors are banana, small yeast, a little buttery texture. Not bad. deyholla (12038) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 11, 2010
On tap. Poured a near clear gold with a white head that lasted throughout the beer and laced nicely. Aroma was full of sweet grains with some caramel and a nice underlying light fruit. Flavor had lots of sweet grains as well with a hint of nuttiness as well as an underlying caramel.
