Bottle... Pours clear and lightly golden with minimal legwork. The aroma is an odd, but pleasant marriage of sunflower seeds and methanol. Full-bodied, raspy and as flat as a pancake – as it should be. The flavor is marriage of big-time ethanol and a less significant note of sunflower seeds. The alcohol burns in both the harsh flavor and red hot finish. Bottle courtesy of burg326!

Still. Clear pale yellow pour. Beautiful honey nose with a hint of bourbon. Taste is a little harsh, warm and boozy up front with some light honey and oak in the finish.

Tap @ Kuhnhenn: Another mead with a pale, pear-golden body. Slight haze, no carbonation as advertised. Lovely honeycomb aroma, toast, hints of vanilla, a slight edge of charred oak, moderate bourbon warmth, floral notes, & a very modest kiss of vague acidity towards the end of each waft. Flavor is both robust, yet smooth & inviting at the same time. Vanilla, oak, honey, light caramel, bourbon, grass, & a touch of flowers. Toasted wood lingering the finish; mild bourbon, vanilla, & sweet honey mouth coating. Enjoyed this one quite a bit, even more than the 6-year version.

Poured a semi clear yellow color with aromas of dry honey and some bourbon. Flavors were all boozy bourbon followed by dry honey. Decent but not something that I could nor want to drink every day.

Bottle thanks to FlandersNed. Pours dirty gold no head. Nose and taste of florals, honey, oak, vanilla, light bourbon barrel and sunflower seeds. Medium body. A bit too much alcohol in finish.

PhillyCraft (7981) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 6, 2013
Bottle cracked with Brian and Court. Pours clearish gold, no head and lace. Notes of vanilla, wood, whiskey, and sweet honey. Flavor is better than aroma with less burn from the booze but overall it was too hot. Another year or two should do wonders for this mead.

Super pale yellow. Sweet but not cloying. Bourbon, oak, toothpick and d&b apple note found this one out.

Pours with a clear water colored body that has a slight yellow tint. The aroma is pretty smooth with some honey and pear notes to go along with a faint sweet bourbon booziness. The taste is smooth and rich to start and then gets into a semi harsh bourbon booze note to break up the slick smooth honey. Well into the after taste a touch of buttery toffee (the oak maybe) seems to coat the inside of the mouth in a pleasing fashion.
