Fermented with sugars, no forced carbonation, not overly tangeriney like the festival version. In fact, the hint of the citrus acts like a slice of orange would. Citric and spicy nose, nice and cloudy, wonderful carbonation...spritzy and zippy. First sip offers a lemony pop to the tip of my tongue. Nice fresh, zesty mouthfeel. Tangy and spicy, with a yeasty/malty body providing a nice even background. Somewhat complex and very refreshing. Also wonderful from the bottle.Styles (2014) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - AUG 1, 2005

I took a sip from Hoppygrrrls sample and puckered up from the SweetTart candy effect. Tangarine was strange and out of place in the slightly cloudy, already lemony wit. The folks at Kuhnhenn were just out to have fun and try new ideas, though. This, along with their Strawberry Panty Dropper and bubbly sake were the worst of the bunch. I wouldn't expect this to be a regular brew of theirs, as most folks puckered up and poured it out. It's candy-sugary burst left my teeth feeling sugar coated and in need of immediate brushing. I opted for "cleaning" them with more beer instead.
UPDATED: MAY 16, 2008 Tap: golden, nice white head made of tiny bubbles. Nice tangerine aroma with some coriander in the background. Fruity esters abound. Initial flavor is all tangerine, lemon, more citrus fruit through the middle, decent coriander character. Nice lively mouthfeel. Wits are becoming a guilty pleasure of mine lately, still a nice thirst quencher RyanMM (416) - Ferndale, Michigan, USA - JUN 19, 2010
Draught at the brewpub, Summer Solstice 2010. Hazy light amber-orange with nice white head. Tangerine dominates the nose. Light, nice zesty carb. Acidic and fruity. Lots of orange on the tongue. Restrained sweetness, refreshing. 3.9 fear025 (213) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - SEP 10, 2010
Aroma:Wheat and orange.
Appearance:Pale orange, not a whole lot of head.
Taste:On the foretaste, it’s mostly orange and wheat. Through the midtaste the orange fades out and gets watered down a little. All that remains on the aftertaste is some wheaty flavors.
Palate:Light body, low carbonation.
Overall:This is a tasty, refreshing beer, not a whole lot of complexity, but what it does, it does well.

Wonderful, clean, refreshing, take on a Wit. One of my favorite all time beers.

Draught at the brewery. Medium orange, very small white head. Amazing tangerine aroma - I mean fresh tangerines, as advertised - lovely! Tangy taste: hops and more tangerine mixed with some yeast. Medium creamy body. Very fruity. Lovely stuff! xav33 (313) - Midland, MI, Michigan, USA - APR 5, 2007
Kuhnhenn Tangerine Wit
64 oz growler
Moderate pour in a tumbler.
Unknown brewing (recent?), enjoyed day after the growler pour, 04/07
Poured a hazy orange amber with a fizzy white somewhat diminishing head.
Smelt of strong coriander and moderate tangerine, chamomile, doughy yeast.
Taste was upfront strong sweet coriander and chamomile with moderate sweet and sour tangerine followed by a moderate continuation of the above on an average finish, mostly sour.
Palate was fizzy, light bodied, slightly dry.
Overall, an awesome citrus summer quencher with an explosion of bold flavors. Very well done. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 25, 2006
Draught sample at the brewpub. Hazy light orange-gold colour. Aroma of yeast and fresh tangerine juice - very nice! Flavour - wow! Tangy, fresh, juicy - it’s breakfast beer! A surprisingly good treat. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - MAR 28, 2014
Reviewed from notes. Consumed June 2013 at the brewery.
The appearance had a hazy yellow body with a one finger white foamy head that dissipates and concaves within a minute leaving some nice clingy foamy lacing gracing the sides of the glass.
The smell had a spicy and yeasty up front with some nice citrusy tones backing that up, coriander is slightly there.
The taste was spicy and yeasty again with a nice wheat back up, dry sweet yet citrus aftertaste and a dry yeasty finish.
The palate sat about a light to medium, slightly sessionable - seems like it should be more due to the low ABV, but there seems to be something that makes it feel beefed up a bit - hmmm.... I like it. Carbonation is adequately felt for the style and for me.
Overall, well, I say this is good for the style and good for me, I’d have it again. flemdawg (563) - Rowlett, Texas, USA - MAY 29, 2004
On tap at the brewery. Citrusy, sweet tangerine smell, lots of yeast as well. A hazy yellow straw color with a white head. Orangey taste that was more sour than sweet plus that yeast. Dry finish. Tasty.
