Draft at MBGSF ’10 from notes. Pours a slightly hazy reddish brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor had lightly toasted malt, fresh malts, chocolate, some earthy notes, thin, somewhat watery, ok. j12601 (12973) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - AUG 12, 2010
Pouring at the Michigan Brewers Festival during RBSG. Pours a just clear brown with a large beige head. Soft toffee and light hops. Chocolate, malt, and toast. Thin to medium bodied, soft cocoa. Soft and sweet finish. Nice stuff. Tmoney99 (14752) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 11, 2010
MBGSF 2010. Poured reddish brown with a large fizzy off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate complex toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium sweet toasted flavor with a medium dark chocolate finish of moderate duration. Interesting brew for a fest beer. puzzl (3260) - New York, New York, USA - AUG 2, 2010
Tap at MBGSF. Not a mild. Sweetish, crumby and toast aroma. Easy body, a smattering of earthy hops, with a slight licorice finish. CanIHave4Beers (4194) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - JUL 30, 2010
_ At MBGSF! Pours a deep reddish brown color with a huge head and some lace. The aroma is stinky in some way but has a lot of fresh malt, like what it smells like in the homebrew store. There is also a distinct chocolate aroma in there as well. The flavor has a nice mildly toasty character with some mild chocolate and a bit of earthy hoppyness.
