Originally had on draft at MBGSF 07 (12 oz bottle) from notes. Pours a mostly clear copper brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, a splash of spicy rye, dark fruits, in 07 there was some hop character, citrus and resiny, that was not really in the bottle I sampled, alcohol, decent but I have enjoyed some of their other barley wines better. hopdog (12816) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 11, 2016
12oz bottle. Poured a cloudy amber color with a small sized off white head. Caramel, some toastiness, and fruity. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - APR 2, 2015
Bottle: 2012 vintage, almost 3 years old. Thick burnt orange & copper body with a small beige collar. Aroma of heavy toasted rye bread, milled grains, caramel, a touch of paper, very mild raisin, maybe a touch of brandy-ish booze? Flavor of figs, dates, sherry, caramel, light toffee, raisin, mild staleness, a hint of braised wheat, lightly burnt toast. Sweet, but balanced with a small touch of earthiness. Not bad. cbfobes (2885) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - JAN 18, 2014
Poured from bottle, pours an unclear amber brown with an off white head, the aroma is malty and sweet at first with some of the hops coming through as well, the flavor has a hop front end with a biscuity and malt finish, booze is well hidden, nice mouthfeel, pretty good. madmitch76 (25101) - , Essex, ENGLAND - SEP 15, 2013

Hazy amber beer with a good off white head. Palate is smooth with a minerally crisp trailing edge, Creamy malt with a nice tangy sweet vibe that resolves in to sherbet candy. Mild crystallised fruits. Light dry finish. Unusual and delicious!
12 ounce bottle thanks to weihenweizen. Pours a darker copper. Not much head. Estery, wheat, and caramelly. Burns in the finish. djd07 (15270) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 2, 2013
Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy orange with small frothy white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is floral hop and vanilla. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet malt and light hop with sweet finish. A good barley wine from Kuhnhenn. Reynolds314 (3470) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 24, 2013
This was a huge surprise. My expectations were so low but this pulled through. Really nice doughy biscuity maltiness with lots of sweetness but it doesnt finish cloying. Relatively drinkable and nice. Aniela (4216) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 25, 2013
