4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at the brewpub. Quite full and well balanced. Real wintery and wonderfully wintery. Malty, slightly spicy. Semi clear and deep golden in colour.
bottle at Muckfest 2017. 2007 vintage. Strong oxidation and alcohol in aroma. Taste is sugar water and paper. This is why you don’t cellar beers. ctipping (2047) - Florida, USA - OCT 25, 2015
12 oz. bottle. Says 2009 and 2011? Deep amber and ruby body. Some khaki bubbles that settle out quickly. Smells of raisins and alcohol. Brown sugar and sherry oxidation. Taste starts sweet and sugary. Dark fruits and raisins. Quickly cut by a sharp acidity and oxidation that dries it out. Alcohol burn in the back end. Warming with low carbonation. Heavy and slow to drink. Not something I’d drink again, but interesting enough to warrant trying at all. JBPortland (1543) - Hampton Roads, Virginia, USA - MAY 3, 2015
12oz bottle pours murky dark toated brown with light red edges and small head. Nose is rich molasses, caramel, and dark winter fruit spice. Taste is chewy sweet caramel, dark fruit, plum spice, raisin and nutty brown sugar. Finishes sweet with lingering notes carried over from the palate, maybe a bit of oxidation and somewhat low carb but still a very interesting and complex sipper. 2007 Vintage. Pours a deep mahogany color with a half finger of eggshell bubbles. Lots of boozy sweetness on the nose with some backend bread and lots of fruity yeast notes. Nice balance of the sweet malts and complex yeast. Round edges and just a touch of oxidation happening. Pretty damn good for a 8 year old lager ! johnnnniee (4312) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 25, 2015
2007 bottle shared by Brewnbbq, thanks for the opportunity Jeff!
Rich caramel maltiness with plenty of fruity notes and a hint of warming alcohol. Held up great, I’m glad I got to try it!

2012 Bottle shared. Pours cloudy brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of banana, molasses, toffee, dark caramel. Flavor is heavy sweet. A bit sickly in the palate. Medium to full bodied with light carbonation. Not great. deanso (10133) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - OCT 29, 2014

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2014 Bottle: 2012. Thanks, Tammy. Deep brown, slightly burnt copper hue with a beige tinted foam & fuzzy collar atop the brew. Aroma smells like red Twizzers licorice, very candy-esque sweetness with a touch of honey and some toasted malt. But lots of red licorice. Touch of apple, too. Flavor has a touch of honey booziness & some toasty malts, but lots of sweet flavors of red licorice, bubblegum, clove, some dark prunes, a little touch of anise, & a mild onset of oxidation. Good carbonation, medium bodied, A nice beer.
