Cask, at The Ginger Man, NYC. With lemon verbena and black peppercorn. An unclear one, golden in color and with a small, off-white head leaving lacing. Oranges and some sourish notes in the aroma, with pale malts in the back. Not much trace of the pepper in the aroma, but it has a nice peppery touch in the flavor. Oranges, citrusy soourness notes and pale malts in the flavor. Decent bitterness too. Medium body, rather soft on the carbonation. An interesting experiment, but the base beer is too ordinary and the additions too gentle I think. 150624 hivemind (915) - New York, New York, USA - AUG 7, 2015
Tap @ LGA 08.07.2015 waiting for flight to Pitt. Pours rusty orange/caramel and opaque or near-opaque. Small or medium white head which is wet and leaves scattered lacing. Faint Belgiant yeast on the nose but that comes through big on the palate accompanied by some buttery floral notes. Medium mouthfeel and body is medium-high carb with spice. Very decent. Cask with lemon verbena & black peppercorns @ The Ginger Man, New York, NYtfontana (962) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 15, 2015
Pours hazy golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, yeast and citrus. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long caramel, yeasty and slightly malty finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft to flat.
Bottle from Signal Variety, Plaistow NH. Aroma is some malty bread and yeasty dough. Appearance is cloudy orange-brown with 1 finger width foamy head with trace lacing.. I understand sediment kind of goes hand-in-hand with Belgian style beers but this wasn’t just confined to the bottom 1/4 of the bottle. Taste is mild sweetness and some other flavor--is this the Maca root?--it tastes a lot like their pale ale. Palate is medium bodied with thin texture and flat carbonation. Finish is abrupt. It has a cool label and the maca root/Andean origin is a neat gimmick but there is nothing for me to actually recommend the beer. rumproasts (5356) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUN 8, 2015
Tap. Golden with small head. Lightly sweet with nice Belgian spice. Easy drinking, but solid flavor.

Poured from bottle. Aroma mainly dried fruit. Deep gold color - kinda dark for a blonde. I taste brown sugar, pepper, banana, nutmeg and other spices, malt, mango and raisin. There’s a trace of alcohol but I can’t detect any hops. Enjoying the earthy, spice aftertaste. Good choice - want to try more from this brewer. jgb9348 (6250) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - NOV 26, 2014
Very hazy golden blonde coloured body with no head at all and only a touch of yellow tint coming through. Aroma of alcohol, grain, starch and bitterness - not too pleasant. Light-bodied; Sharp alcohol flavour with grain and unfinished sugars, all with a touch of bitterness from the malt. Aftertaste shows the deep pungent malt, alcohol with a lot of bitterness and metallic notes and a funky bite at the end showing some banana and plantain notes. Overall, a beer with a flavour that I pretty much expected (from their other beers) with nothing too nice and only a funky taste finishing it off. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 08-November-2014 for US$2,00 sampled at home in Washington on 26-November-2014. dmac (6257) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - OCT 10, 2014
12oz bottle from yobdoog, thanks Trevor. Poured a thick hazy orange/amber with a smaller foamy off white head. Aroma/flavor of Belgian yeast, dough, honey, fruity esters, slight nut shell. Nice fuller body with average carbonation and an almost milky feel. Decent. nimbleprop (8376) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - OCT 10, 2014
12oz bottle pours a hazy gold with some sudsy white head. Nose is interesting, Belgiany esters, stone fruit, a little candy, a little tea like. Flavor is also a bit odd, some Dubbel notes, clove and raisin mostly, then a bit more traditional candy sweetness, followed by some earthy kombucha notes, some peach too, even a little plum. Creamy, tannic finish. beerbill (3618) - Laurel, New York, USA - AUG 21, 2014
Draught. Pours a lightly hazed golden amber with a thin linen white head that lasted through the first two sips and left very little lace. Light aroma of fruity Belgian yeast and not much else. The flavor is malt with mildly fruity Belgian yeast followed by some mild hops bitterness. A bit of sweetness to the flavor as well. Easy drinker.
