Kulmbacher Edelherb is pale and dry. Its special taste is thanks to the soft brewing water from pristine, crystal-clear springs of the Fichtelgebirge, the noblest malting barley from regional farmlands, handpicked hops from the Hallertau, and our legendary brewing skills.

0.5 l bottle from Alko, Helsinki. Looks like average pale lager, but taste has malts and German bittering hops.... and herb like taste. No American citrus here, just European herbs. Yep, taste more interesting you would expect.

Looks the part of the ubiquitous pilsener. Uninteresting (non-existent?) aroma. Peculiar bittersweet taste - more interesting than an ordinary pilsener, but this may be an acquired taste. It certainly doesn’t enchant me.

500 ml bottle
Clear white golden beer with big white head. Aroma has butter, white bready malts, grassy and herbal hops. Flavor is malty, slightly citrusy, slightly herbal. Palate is thin, a bit watery, with medium carbonation. Finish has quite mild bitterness. Aftertaste is white bready, herbal, grassy and watery. Not the tastiest German Pils out there.

Bottle. Golden colour with a small white head. Malty aroma with notes of grassy hops. Flavour is malty with grassy and fruity hops. Smooth and medium-bodied, slightly bitter finish.

I had this at the Flying Saucer. Taste grain, slightly sweet, light. I thought this was good. I could drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2009 11.2 oz bottle obtained locally. Pours out a clear blonde color with a nice white head. that dissappears qucikly leaving a lot of lace on the glass. Mild biscuity aroma. Very sublte flavors. Do i detect saaz hops? Starts out a bit sweet with some subtle wheat (yes i know there is no wheat here, but i taste wheat anyways) and subtle bananna flavors, even some mild pear..then some mellow hoppiness kicks in, followed by a beautifully balanced Pilsner finish and nice lingering aftertaste that makes you yearn for the next glass. Ok, i never cared for Pilsners until i tasted this one, it is that good. I cannot imagine a more refreshing summer beer than this. My ONLY gripes are that is is too carbonated, and lacks aroma. ..try this out, it IS good.(unless you hate all pilsners to begin with). And if you want a good beer as a gateway for your macro-swill neighbors, i can’t imagine a better one...

BelgiskOlklub (1089) - Viby J, DENMARK - APR 15, 2012
Clear light yellow body and a large and nice frothy white head with good lacing. Aroma of barley, cereal, yeast and grass. The taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Long dry finish, medium body, thin feel, soft carbonation.

austone (1062) - Turku; Pori, FINLAND - JAN 2, 2009
Clear golden, firm white head. Dry and grainy malty aroma, little honey. Flavor is dry malts, cardboard, honey, mild hay with moderate bitterness. Mineral watery finish. Utterly boring and even bulky pilsner, way lacking in aromahops.

Quinten (1061) - zaandam, NETHERLANDS - JUN 29, 2006
light colden color, foamy no lastin head, nice disign labels on my bottle, a bit bitter normal pilsener, some sweetness, dry aftertaste.
