Kulmbacher Edelherb is pale and dry. Its special taste is thanks to the soft brewing water from pristine, crystal-clear springs of the Fichtelgebirge, the noblest malting barley from regional farmlands, handpicked hops from the Hallertau, and our legendary brewing skills.

Light straw color with a big foamy head. Aroma of straw, yeast, and tree bark. Taste of yeast, bread, and light caramel. Bitterness not really apparent at first but developing on tongue, though not very much. Decent pilsner for those who like the style

Bottled from Aachen, A light yellow color with a average white head. Medium carbonation, hay nose. The aroma is sweet with hops and grass. Flavour is the same with hoppy bitters in the Finish. OK, that’s it.

From a 5 liter barrel:
Pours a clear, brilliant yellow color. Head is big, white and creamy. It leaves a film and a neat lacing. Aroma is herbal, fresh with notes of grass, mint, cereal grains, anise and a little of yeast in the form of cardboard. Flavor is slightly bitter, herbal with a malty base. It has sweet touches of cereal grains with a good hoppy presence, but overall flat and unexciting. Body is medium, creamy and smooth. Carbonation is low, surprisingly. Finish is medium, chalky with some earthy notes. Herbal aftertaste. A refreshing Pils but nothing to write home about.

12oz bottle from the gourment beer of the month club, it looks great, pours a sunshine yellow that makes you think its your turn in the sun. Kinda gets you excited, then you taste it. Damn, though this one may have a hope, to be good that is. Taste like a typical domestic beer of everday. The taste is quite flat actually, nothing specail to report here. Although these brews, the pilsy kinds suds, dont really ever help me. I could pound these all day.

BitchPls (800) - FINLAND - FEB 9, 2013
Clear yellow beer with a medium foamy white head. Typical smell for a typical pils. Slightly bitter, malty, a bit sweet, fairly carbonated, unsurprising. Pretty bland and simple beer. Nothing compared to Urquell for example.

330ml bottle, poured into La Chouffe tulip. A: Pale colour, small head which didn’t hang around long, minimal lacing. S: Hallertau hop, fruity, grassy. T: Lots of bitterness as title would suggest, notes of bread and grass. Balanced but uncomplex. M: Crisp, light body, well carbonated, coarse. O: A decent enough Pils, I think it might be hard to drink more than 2 or 3 because of the bitterness. Serving type: bottle 07-28-2013

Bottle poor to pilsner glass gives slightly cloudy golden color with white head that disappears quickly. Flavor is nice with some malt sweetness and maybe a little citrus, but overall watery. Mild hop bitterness on the end. Not a premier beer by any means but a nice drink on a hot day.

I’m always up for a good pilsener and this one definitely hit the spot. It poured a golden yhellow with a huge white head. Plenty of carbonation. Nice skunky smell. Very smooth and crisp. Not as flavorfull as the aroma would lead make you think.
