Malts and roastiness in the aroma. Pours a dark brown, but really quite a deep crimson amber when held to the light. Toffee and candy tones as brew approaches. Some fantastic maltiness with a sweet background that almost cloys, rides a fine line but manages to stay on the balanced side. Nice warming feeling down the back of the throat. A beautiful eisbock.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep dark nutty brown hue with a thin ivory foamy top. Lovely dark nutty and sweet roasted toast malt tones on the nose. Earthy toast and dry nutty alcohol phenols on the flavor with a touch of woody metallic nuances. Full, boozy, dark bready and slightly metallic, but in a good German way. A little dry and bready and boozy but alright.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Yay. My first rate if an eisbock. Bottle pour cola brown with ruby hue and rapidly dissipating tan head. Nose caramel, candied apple, molasses, raisins. Taste sweet up front, candied fruit, fig, prune. Then some stone fruit and caramel. Minimal to no bitterness. Mild hint of alcohol in the end.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 18/20
Clear, deep amber, cola color, tall, explosive head with fine bubbles.
Medium body, very flavorful, lean texture, very hot but refreshing mouthfeel, average length.
Sweet, well balanced by bitterness and acidity.
Malty, citrusy, barley candy, alcohol flavors.
Very enjoyable for the style. I prefer tripels and quads.
Good match with Gruyere, Garrotxa.

nice condensed bock rife with malt and dark fruit wine that is also a little red. sweetish and of course boozy the alcohol helps to thin it out in the finish while creating a warming sensation. some moderate chewiness at first. bit of raisin and a hint of spice. a bit of wood with an ivy.
