Schwarzbier - keine Angst!

Bottle 500ml @ home
[From trade with McTapps] Pours dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, some dried fruits and hint of coffee. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long chocolate and hint of smoke/ash finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

500ml bottle. Clear, dark mahogany colour with ruby glow and average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Slightly roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of treacle, pumpernickel, a touch of coffee. Taste is sweet-ish dark malty, slightly roasty, hints of cola, a touch of coffee, treacle, pumpernickel; a minimally metallic touch in the finish. Oily texture, minimally sticky palate.

Das kräftige SchokoStout unter den Blackies. Umfangreich aromatisch, untypisch, gut 👌!!! 0,5l Geschenk von Herzberg Ralph.

Bottle bought in Bad Saarow - finally got this! - clear dark brown color, beige head. taste is strong dark malts, coffee, cocoa powder. bit sweet. full body, slightly boozy, dry finish. great schwarzbier. +0.1 for the label and the story behind.

drpimento (3714) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 8, 2017
Aroma’s dark malt toasty and roasty with a hint of anise. Flavor is mostly like knows but loses the anise and Gains Cocoa, is very smooth and balanced and super easy drinking a perfect schwarzbier. Great body and finish.

Glass tasted at booth Kyritz City at Hanze Days Kampen. Unexpected pleasure. Bit sweet, little bitterness, alcohol well tasted. Not a glass to empty in 5 minutes but to enjoy every sip in time.caramel, bread, alcohol, bubblegum, licorice,

Clear brown color with frothy beige head. Aroma has toasted malts, bread crust and some burnt sugar. Taste is sweet at first with crunchy bread crust notes but gets more bitter with earthy hop notes and toasted malt. Medium to light body and medium carbonation. Overall it’s quite good and easy to drink for its ABV.

500 ml. no bottling date apparent. Schwarz pour with a lasting film of creamy bubbles. Aroma is dark bread, cocoa and earthy molasses with small supporting roles from apple and dried grass. Flavors of whole grain bread, molasses, toasted nut, apple and a bit of mild roasted coffee and cacao nib. Medium bodied with a low-medium carbonation and a delicate balance that somehow manages to end slightly dry. The 7.2% abv is undetectable.

Pour is a black with a small white head. Aroma is a bland lager malt with some wet paper bag. Flavor is kind of the same. Some licorice and treacle but not enough to take this one to the next level. I’m sure in Germany this taste a lot better but as it is right now it is just a bland lager with some dark malt notes.
