Schwarzbier - keine Angst!

Bottle, picked up at rewe in steglitz. Looks just like a dubbel, a rich shade of very dark brown ith a thin beige head; curious aroma of walnut skin, sour cherry and almond; loads of flavour - burning rubber, olive brine, sherbet, brown sugar, melt-in-the-mouth texture. Original and quite sophisticated

oobawa (1748) - Tennessee, USA - NOV 15, 2017
Pretty good schwarzbier, with a solid dark malt front backed up by deep toffee, mocha, and dried fig and date notes. Mild bitterness leads to a clean, roasty fade. Tons of chocolate and roasted malt on the nose. Smells better than it tastes, but still a good pint.

Jabic (702) - Plainfield, Vermont, USA - OCT 20, 2017
Ar: Semi-sweet toast; a light char; floral hoppiness. Ap: Deep amber-brown; almost opaque; medium-large mocha head with good retention, leaving a compact foam cap and true egg-white consistency along the glass sides in a chunky, scattered pattern. T: Tangy toasted malt; malt is clean; toffee and caramel; very light coffee; medium-high bitterness, very peppery hop flavor alongside; like candied malt throughout. P: Medium body with high carbonation; finish is medium-dry. O: A pleasure of a schwartzbier; deep malty backbone, very rich, accented with roast notes; quite bitter with a firmly clean fermentation profile; looks beautiful in the glass.

500ml bottle. Clear, dark mahogany colour with ruby glow and average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Slightly roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of treacle, pumpernickel, a touch of coffee. Taste is sweet-ish dark malty, slightly roasty, hints of cola, a touch of coffee, treacle, pumpernickel; a minimally metallic touch in the finish. Oily texture, minimally sticky palate.

Bottle bought in Bad Saarow - finally got this! - clear dark brown color, beige head. taste is strong dark malts, coffee, cocoa powder. bit sweet. full body, slightly boozy, dry finish. great schwarzbier. +0.1 for the label and the story behind.

drpimento (3761) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 8, 2017
Aroma’s dark malt toasty and roasty with a hint of anise. Flavor is mostly like knows but loses the anise and Gains Cocoa, is very smooth and balanced and super easy drinking a perfect schwarzbier. Great body and finish.

bearacle (15) - Deventer, NETHERLANDS - JUN 19, 2017
Glass tasted at booth Kyritz City at Hanze Days Kampen. Unexpected pleasure. Bit sweet, little bitterness, alcohol well tasted. Not a glass to empty in 5 minutes but to enjoy every sip in time.caramel, bread, alcohol, bubblegum, licorice,

ciocanelu (2957) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - MAY 26, 2017
Clear brown color with frothy beige head. Aroma has toasted malts, bread crust and some burnt sugar. Taste is sweet at first with crunchy bread crust notes but gets more bitter with earthy hop notes and toasted malt. Medium to light body and medium carbonation. Overall it’s quite good and easy to drink for its ABV.
