Very misty, large head. Soft saison like aroma, not as clean as expected, which is great. Melon like hops. Light bitter, surprisingly well done. Very true it American example except indeed for that more complex fermentation. It’s surprisingly awesome! (Sampled on tap at Swafff Brussels)

On tap at ContreBande. Pours golden yellow and opaque. A very good play in the mouth and nose between the malts, the hops and the yeast. This beer is fantastic. very drinkable and refreshing.

Great beer made in a great brewery. Probably the best brewery to produce it.

Zeer leuke IPA. Zoals ik ze graag heb. Het aroma is een hop bom, maar de smaak is veel uitgebalanceerder. Mooi rond en juicy mondgevoel. Leuk.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Tom’s place. Thanks Tom. Cloudy blond. Onion and lemon and a little leafy in the nose, bitter, dry and a little sweet in the mouth. Medium body, mellow bitter finish, a little floral, mellow fizz. Well-balanced and good.

Brussels has acquired a vibrant beer scene in recent years - like most other modern cities I suppose - and this new, enthusiastic brewing project is a good illustration of how these new Brussels-based craft brewers more and more depart from the Belgian clichés. This is an ’internationally’ conceived IPA, tasted from tap at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Very thick, frothy, dense, beaten egg-like, snow white head leaving an intricate pattern of papery lacing around the glass; straw blonde robe, medium hazy, on the pale side for the style. Aroma is dominated by ’new’ hoppiness, but not in the most elegant way imaginable: suffering a bit from a stale urine-like odour as a result, while other impressions include moldy lemon peel, dough, white bread, fermenting pear juice, light passion fruit, pineapple juice, dried mango, green kiwi, apple. Fruity onset with impressions of passion fruit, pineapple, green banana and lime with an apple-ish touch, soft body yet initially quite sharply carbonated, smooth and slick; lightly bready middle, a tad grainy, leading up to a hoppy finish, with retronasal mango, pink grapefruit and passion fruit, while that urine-like aspect fortunately does not return anymore at least not at full force - in all, this tastes a lot better than it smells. The hop bitterness remains mild and aromatic, but adequately bittering, just not in a harsh way, as is the intention in most present-day IPAs that are conscious of what is happening internationally with this style. Elegant, too bad for that urine thing, but tastes pleasant enough, I can see myself drinking this on the terrace outside MLF for hours on end if it were a summer’s day.

29/X/16 - 33cl bottle from a trade (Malt Attacks) @ home, BB: VI/2018 (2016-1243) Thanks to Bierridder_S for the trade!

Clear bright blond beer, huge solid creamy white head, very stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet malts, grapefruit, peach candy, caramel, some band-aid. MF: very carbonated, medium to light body. Taste: some citrus, grapefruit, pretty bitter, malty, grains, bit grassy. Aftertaste: very dry, spicy, some yeast, bitter grapefruit skin, hint of pineapple, bitter lemon, more fruity and malty when warming up.

Carbonatation moyenne, texture aqueuse.
