3 Iesalu is a great beer with a lot of full flavor and body. I’m not normally much of a lager guy but this one is an exception with its strong color and taste, and a palate that will go perfectly with croutons.

Deep clear amber body. Off white head. Storey curtains as laceworks. Mild sweet aroma of caramel malts, brown toffee fudge, hint of honey. Taste of caramel malts, berry peel, juicy fruits, grass, hops. Normal on palate, soft, normal body. Hops come stronger in the finish, with notes of yellow apples. A nice amber for nice people. [50cl brown embossed special bottle, abv5%, BB15.01.15]

Pretty good stuff as far as Lacplesis is concerned, but not as fantastically special as its description. The appearance is certainly something else though, with an almost opaque burgundy-brown darkness. The aroma is a bit metallic and off-putting but there’s a decent general smoothness elsewhere

500ml can from Riga. Pours a golden brown body, with bigh frothy head that rapidly diminishes and leaves good lacing. Bark, wet wood, plum, earth and a hint of coffe, very round and pleasant aroma. The taste is quite sweet, date, prunes and plums, but most caramel. Shared [email protected] Session

Clear amber with medium white head. Bit lacing. Aroma.. malty thou not so intense as name says, caramel, hops, bread bit fruity. Sweet (bit too much) with light bitter finish. Too watery. One of the best from Lacplesis, but its low bar
