Hazy golden ale with a thick white head. Sweet white wine aroma. Rather sweet malt with alcohol notes and dryish finish. Light bodied. Mondial 2005. hopdog (12568) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 30, 2014
500ml bottle. Poured a hazy yellow color with a smaller sized head. White wine, grapes, and fruity. Definitely dominated by the white wine concentrate. jercraigs (10374) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 15, 2008
2008-07-11. Golden yellow with a modest white head. (3+) Lightly yeasty aroma with touches of alcohol and fruit notes. Light alcohol in the flavour is restrained considering the alcohol content. Light fruit, hints of the wine though perhaps I am looking for it - I’m not sure if I would have picked it out without knowing it was there. Average palate. Decent but a bit dull. White grapes and floating yeast conjure up some tart predictions. Banana sweetness lies within, but that yeast is still bugging me.
A sticky yeast and placid white wine fruitiness dissolve into an easy-going finish. A light acidity lashes the tongue, but all in all this tastes unpolished and perhaps too young.
Apparently the neighbor’s started brewing beer.
[1516-20080711] 750 bottle. Light floral yeast aroma. Hazy, light orange brown body with a quick foamy white head. Floral yeast flavour has a hint of banana fizz. Medium body is fizzy. Surprisingly drinkable, not too alcoholic.

Overheard: "Brown... smells like Quebec."
UPDATED: JAN 8, 2014 re-rate (6 months old bottle): pours hazy light golden with a very decent and stable white head leaving some nice lacing patterns. yeast-plenty - feels like champagne yeast, some astringency, white grapes and white port, light oakiness, pepper, grass, wheat, spices, oranges. moderate sweetness. lively to average carbonation, light body - oily, drying grassy-spicy finish. very nice product. thanks yann. (Rating #2216) blankboy (7689) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 5, 2008
My Bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc, mabel & tupalev. 2008 vintage. Pours a slightly hazy yellow-orange with an average size white head. Aroma’s sweet and yeasty along with a bit of fruit and spices. Flavour’s the same: Sweet, yeasty and fruity but I find the lightly hoppy finish a little iffy, not sure why. I get no alcohol at all which is impressive -- is this really 10%? Average bodied. Nothing great but still decent, I didn’t mind it. Bottle (750ml). Shared by blankboy with gregclow, jerc, mabel & tupalev. Clear pale amber, small wispy whitish head. Aroma reminds me of a dry, light hefeweizen - fruity (banana, apple) and mildly spicy - sweet and clean. Taste - strong apple, slightly oxidized, mild alcohol (10%? really?), sweet yeast, light banana, but a little thin. Weak body, mild carbonation, slightly papery in the finish - has that "Quebec" character I can’t define --- but it’s there. ClarkVV (6708) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 15, 2005
On draught at Mondial, 6/5/05. Deep shimmering, goldenrod colored beer, head quickly recedes to nothing and the body is fairly still. Aroma is lightly peachy and has some pear skins, apple pulp, white grapes and a bit of sweet malt. Flavor is lightly acidic up front, with a drying, earthy grapes and golden apples flavor that is rather dry and acidic. Light malt sugars give some sweetness, while the body is very thick, syrupy-like and viscous. Lightens up a bit on the finish, with some floral notes, more peachy-chardonnay flavors and a bit of sourish yeast. Odd beer, but for as much as I dislike chardonnay, I actually sort of enjoyed this one. Medium body, very low carbonation, as mentioned, but the flavor sticks to the palate fairly well, wine is not overdone.
