COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bière cuivrée aux arômes floraux de houblon frais. En bouche, le palais est envahi par une franche amertume puis est soutenu par le malt et le houblon. La finale est très longue et toute en houblons.

Lubiere (14151) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 13, 2004
Called Mousse Tachue IPA at Vices et Versa. Golden ale with a thick nitro head. Aroma masked by the smoke. Intense hops hits the spot with creamy nitro mouthfeel, some citrus and nice nuts in finsih. Rich body (proabably the nitro) and lactic metallic notes as beer warms up.

whaleman (2178) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 30, 2004
UPDATED: AUG 31, 2004 Bottled June 2004. Soapy off-white head, dull orange body with minute suspended particles, and weak carbonation. Spicy hop nose plus a Mandarin orange-citrus quality. Flavor of woody hops and citrus. Soapy bitterness in the finish. Somewhat astringent even. Not exactly bad, but I could close my eyes, toss a beer cap, and easily hit a better IPA in my house at any given time.

Eructoblaster (4391) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 7, 2004
Dark gold hazy body topped with a thin off-white frothy head. The beer exhales a nice and decently strong hoppy aroma with some bready and herbal hints. Mouthfeel is from A to Z dominated by bitterness, and its final is quite long. That one is a good beer, but it lacks complexity.

3.5
Wheatsheaf (104) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 19, 2004
500ml bottle. A honey-coloured ale that sits under a small, but fully-lasting, off-white head. Pouring the beer unleashes an outburst of hops into the air, but the actual aroma is surprisingly restrained—initially quite empty, in fact, until the piney and citrusy notes come out as the beer warms. Light-to-medium body, with a level of carbonation that is more soft than lively. When cool, this is like a typical pale ale with an above-average hop character. As it warms, more of the piney, resiny, grapefruity hoppiness is revealed—certainly enough to push it into IPA territory. Lingering, lightly astringent, grapefruity aftertaste. Drink it cool and you’ll have a nice, hoppy, easy-drinking pale ale. Let it warm up and you’ll have a well-brewed, solid, and pleasant IPA.

Deep golden haze in color with a small white head. Hoppy aroma and flavor.Bitter and dry.

tiggmtl (4543) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - APR 22, 2004
UPDATED: JUN 12, 2004 Original rating was in the bottle, re-rate on tap. Score as noted is for the tap version. Re-rate (6-Jun-04 - 7-4-5-2-12=3.0): Very nice fresh hop nose with fruity esters in the aroma. Orange coloured with white head that recedes to cover. Strong bitter diva with little chance for the maltiness or fruity ale character to appear in a supporting role. Mouthfeel is fairly simple. On tap at Vices et Versa. * * * * * Original rating (04/22/04 - 3-2-1-2-4=1.2): Overwhelming citrusy hop aroma. Golden coloured beer with full white pillowy head. Extremely bitter and not very pleasing flavour. No supporting malt balance. Grassy aftertaste. Comparing to other ratings, I wonder if there is a problem with this beer... Will try to re-rate at a later date. Bottle.

muzzlehatch (4969) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - APR 15, 2004
UPDATED: NOV 22, 2004 Apr 2004: 500 ml bottle. Light, clear orange, smallish head. Bitter oranges in the nose, caramel malt. Very orangey/citrusy on the tongue also, to the exclusion of much other flavor; sour-milk quality also, not pleasant at all as it warms. Very bitter and dry at the finish; without much malt to back it up, this is pretty tough to drink and just not very good.6/3/3/2/8 2.2

Nov 2004, on tap at Vices at Versa in the company of tiggmtl. Similar, but much maltier and sweeter, the sour-milk is muted and the dryness not so apparent. Still not great IMHO, but at least drinkable.

piscator34 (2647) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - MAR 27, 2004
Orange in colour, with a hops and citrus aroma. Has a nice hit of hops upfront, followed by grapefruit, malt, and maybe a bit of pine. Lacks the complexity of the Bieropholie IPA, or the balance of Anchor's Liberty Ale, but this is still a very solid example of this style.

mrkimchee (1414) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 17, 2004
hazy orange, rocky white head. grapefruit hop and mild earth aroma. good ipa flavours all around, but it seems a little restrained. pretty good.
