utility IPA, quite drinkable. Brown body, significant and noisy head, some grapefruit in aroma , drying finish. Some malt offset. Grapefruit and astringency in the flavours,. Grassy hop,but a good amount of it- a pint is too much and had to be shared. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 1, 2006
Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, blankboy & tupalev - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Golden amber with a large white head. Mild, grainy aroma with some pleasant herbal hops. Flavour is pleasant as well - mellow to start, but the hops start to come through in the finish, along with some mild citrus notes. Subtle - perhaps too subtle for the style - but nice enough. blankboy (7689) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 20, 2006
Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy bubbly orange with a small somewhat-lasting creamy off-white head. Nice hoppy aroma with some spices and malt for good measure. Flavour follows the aroma and is not bad at all, it’s pretty nice actually. The hops came out more and more the further I got through my glass. Medium bodied. A decent IPA. Gorbalev (3000) - Ontario, CANADA - APR 20, 2006
Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, GregClow, and Blankboy, courtesy of Harry. Light orange, big white head, soapy, creamy - looks good. Soft soapy spice aroma, with some citrus. Tingly light mouthfeel. Slightly stale and spicy/peppery hop. Odd grain/organic taste. Refreshing when cold. Hops come through at the end and on second sips - very citrusy. Not bad! Bottle (500ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow and tupalev - my bottle, via trade with Lubiere. Murky orange with large chunks at the bottom, large foamy lasting off-white head. Dry, herbal (almost sour) hops, very light malt - it’s a bit sour, but quite different. Scorched dry funky hops, light citrus malt, yeasty - sort of UK style, very grainy. Mouthfeel is astringent, average body, long bitter finish, longer as it warms. Really interesting.

The bitter taste of an I.P.A. that I like. The after taste does not last long. The color is a nice orange look. A good beer but not my favorite I.P.A. Quevillon (3089) - Boisbriand, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 4, 2006
Un peu amère, légé en goût, pas la meilleur IPA. Par contre elle n’est pas mauvaise à boire. larsga (7539) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 28, 2006
Huge very coarse white head, hazy brown body. Fruity, caramelly malty aroma with citrusy hop notes and some cardboard. Taste is disturbed by excessive carbonation. Taste is sourish and smoky, with a bitter, smoky aftertaste. Something ash-like in the mouthfeel. Another dud from La Barberie, I’m afraid. They must be my least-favourite brewery; good thing this was the last of the LB bottles. Jeppe (2631) - Brooklyn, Alabama, USA - DEC 12, 2005
A muddy orange beer with a fluffy grey head. Sourish citrus and orange aroma with hoppy hints. Thin fruit and yeast flavor with a note of herb and an infected tone. Hmmmmm..... destroye7 (312) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 10, 2005
500 ml bottle. Bitter beer (like most IPA). Cloudy beer, yellow-orange color. Medium carbonation. If you like IPA’s, you’ll like this one.
