Pale ale with red orange hues and sweet aroma of fruits . Tout en douceur, les fruits éclatent de fraîcheur avec des notes aigres-douces. La finale est sèche mais nous laisse des souvenirs de cassis et de houblons floraux.

Nice amber color... beautifull tanned head... nice looking beer... Very fruity, sour, acid, somewhat bitter... very unique beer, makes for a very good summer beer. You get alot more taste around 8 - 10 degrees celcius... good...

Fruit and malt in the aroma, apricot colour, tiny off-white head, loads of lace. Malt is the dominant flavour, a hint of pitfruit. Light bodied, balanced, sweet. Ordinary.

Bottle. Dark hazy orange body with a medium-sized soapy white head and small specks of yeast floating at the bottom. Smells like tart apricot, tangerine, yeast, and butterscotch. Bitter flavour with lots of tart fruit, bread, and butterscotch. Not too bad actually.

Bottle from Marche Jovi. Dark amber brown body with a small white head. Strange yeasty musty aroma is very familiar, bit odd. Lightly fruity. Similar flavour, mild but fruity tang, light bitterness and barely there muted malt. Average palate is quite carbonated. Meh, not unpleasant but a bit odd.

500 ml bottle. Medium head. Orange color, cloudy. Berry aroma. Dry fruit taste. Not strong enough for my taste. Medium carbonation. Low bitter finish.

Bottle (500ml). With blankboy and GregClow, my bottle. Really wanted to like this - I like cassis. Hazy deep amber pour with tons of large floaties but a nice large fluffy white head. Dry aroma, very faint tart fruit, generic malt, slightly bitter herbal hops. Taste is BORING - weak, papery malt, dried-up stale hops, a whisper of fruit that I guess is cassis - it says so on the bottle - mostly just a big ol’ glass of nothing. Watery, ever so slightly tart and astringent but nicely carbonated, with a quick finish - a pretty weak effort, but at least it doesn’t have that nasty sourness so many of its confreres have.

Bouteille 500ml.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry and GregClow -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy dark amber-orange with lots of floaties and a small diminishing white head. Aroma of light hops with fruit and yeast. Flavour of slightly tart fruit with yeast and a light bitter finish. Light to medium bodied, quite carbonated. Meh, pretty boring but it’s O.K. for what it is I guess.

Originally rated September 2006. This blackcurrant beer on the lees pours a cloudy caramel-amber colour with a big creamy head, that stays a long time and leaves great lacing. Tiny bubble average carbonation. The nose is like most of the Barberie brews, with their typical yeast and some mild fruity parfumes. The cassis fruit sits lonely in the back. Slight creamy mouthfeel with a light dry finish. Many fruits are present in the taste, but not one really sticks out. Strawberries being the closest, but sorry guys... this is not your beer. This is blackcurrant’s time to shine. There is just something not right in most Barberie beers I have tried. This one is maybe a step up, but nothing incredible.

Bouteille de 500 ml. Couleur orange thé presque claire, moyen collet. Faible arome de fruit sûr. Goût de fruit sût et faiblement amère, rien de plus.
