ozzatoadisback (132) - ITALY - MAY 7, 2016
Dark brown, possibily hazy, off-white moderate head, decent persistence, little lacing. Aroma has an intense and warming liquorous wine character, with notes of caramel and dark fruits. Taste opens sweet with caramel, dark fruits and a pleasant warming feel, alcohol is nicely hidden tough. Finish has a hint of bitterness and is suprisingly dry for the style. Medium body (actually quite light per style), smooth and clean but still warming palate. Overall its a clean and well done but not particularly exciting beer

Beggard (65) - - MAR 22, 2016
Aroma of an serious beer, very intensive, deep, yeast and malt very well balanced, dark red to brown with a lasting foam. Lasting taste of a roasted coffee/malt but not to dominant, nothing like a porter. Satisfying palate. Overall a very good strong Belgian dark ale.

Small bottle bought in BC Liquor store. Pours a dark brown, almost black with a slightly tan head. Complex aroma is dark fruits, toffy, similar to Belgian Quads. Carbonation is quite high. Taste is malty, dark fruits, caramel and notes of roasted malt. Some notes of iron in the aftertaste, unfortunately. Good one.
