A really solid and balanced Belgian Strong Ale. Pours a deep, brownish ruby red with a thin tan head. Aroma is of dark fruits, doughy yeast, and some sweet notes. Hides its 9.5% ABV well, a rather full buddy with light carbonation. Fairly long finish, lots of different flavours going on--mostly sweet fruits, some dark fruits and caramel malt in there as well, also bubblegum just slightly on the tongue. A strong beer, no the best example of a Belgian Strong Ale, but overall I quite enjoyed it.

Butelka z data : 15 11 2018 (#1414)
AROMAT : Srednio intensywny. Typowy drozdzowo-przyprawowy zapach (biala porzeczka, gruszka w zalewie, suszone morele).
SMAK : Pólwytrawne. Slodowe. Wysokie nasycenie. Dobrze wkomponowany alkohol, to zdecydowanie na plus. Odczucie w ustach: wodniste. Goryczka srednia, sciagajaca.
WYGLAD : Barwa miedziana, zamglone. Piana obfita, trwala, oblepiajaca szklo.
OGÓLNIE : Ciekawy aromat. W smaku ma niewiele do zaoferowania. Bardzo efektownie prezentuje sie w kieliszku - efektowna czapa piany.

Color marrón oscuro, rojizo si le da la luz, opaco, con capa de espuma marrón de tres dedos de grosor (muy buena retención). Carbonatación media. Textura oleosa y un tanto efervescente. Aroma a caramelo, metal, higos, pasas, ciruelas, azúcar. Sabor con mucho caramelo, toques metálicos en los primeros tragos, higos, pasas, ciruelas, especia. De entrada dulce, va tornándose amarga a mitad de trago. Final de amargor suave y especiado, se cuela un mínimo de alcohol. Seca. Postgusto a dark fruits y azúcar. No está mal pero no me aporta nada especial.

At a tasting, almost no head, cloudy very dark red color with traces of floaties, aroma of toffee and caramel with some wood in the back, caramel flavor with some oxidised notes, burning alcoholic sensation. Boring, not good.

Bottle 330 ml. Yellowish foam, brownish-amber color. Aroma: sweet, caramel and dark malts, dried fruits, toffee, esters and port wine. Taste: sweetness, caramel, burnt jam, port wine, raisins and dried apricots with prunes, very warming, well balanced.

Zilverenmaan (198) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - JUN 9, 2017
Aroma light caramels, spicy, crisp alchohol. Taste good combination of soft caramel malts and clean, alcoholic sweetness. Some taste of dark fruits and nuts but alcohol too dominant to really enjoy them. Creamy, aftertaste warming alcoholic. Good thickness and medium carbonation. Not bad but taste is too thin to warrant such a high alcoholic presence.
