chickenflea (351) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - JAN 20, 2011
Appearance: Lightly hazed, dark copper body with a full fingers worth of meringue-like, whitish foam. Fair amount of spiderweb lacing on the way down. Smell: Foundation of lightly sweet-scented maltiness on which sit fruit notes of pears and apples. Also, a good snap of spices, smelling of everything from clove to pepper. Taste: Sweet, sugary pale maltiness slides in before the spicy taste of cracked cloves, white pepper, cardamon, and even a bit of cinnamon. Fruity, faintly tart tastes of apples and pears along with some soft floral tones. Light bitterness. Drying, warming finish with a lingering spiciness and (still lightly) tart fruitiness in the aftertaste, Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-high carbonation. Lightly sticky mouthfeel. Drinkability: A good Belgian brew - you get some upfront sweet maltiness, a complex spice character, and a nice display of fruitiness. A little bit of everything.

Blonde claire, claire, transparente.

I bought this bottle from the boissons service in Malley. I drank it in family at Bonfol. I personnaly found this beer pleasant, on the classical way of Belgium, perfect with mussels. The color is yellow, orange, troubled, huge white head when you pour it, carbonation is higher than usual, sensation of champagne, typical from these Belgian beers. The taste is malty, more fruity than the troublette, a bit sour, touch of apricot, some hop, giving a good nectar to read the greek history step by step, well balanced, taking stronger notes at the final.
