A bit darker than golden, almost transparent. Average head with huge bubbles, scarce persistence and average lacing. Aroma is vividly citric (orange, lemon) and slightly spicy/prickly. Nicely fresh. Taste follows the aroma, with a soft wheat malts base and a slight hint of acidity. Light body, medium to high crispness, easy and quick but maybe a tad too empty. Quite refreshing. This particular pairing was inspired by my buddy Rich from Craft Beer Y’all having Troublette with a lemon sorbet.
I thought that sounded pretty good so I tracked down a bottle but couldn’t easily find sorbet so I got some Haagen Daaz Sicilian Lemon Pie flavored ice cream.
The aroma is tangy lemon with cloves and wheat. The taste is peppery, tangy fruits, wheat and cloves. Quite flavorful and good value for the 400 yen or so price.
Paired with the reach creamy ice cream the carbonation cuts through it and gives the lemon notes a greater sharpness and immediacy.
Not a beer I’d have pegged for a dessert pairing but this is really nice and makes for a chill relaxing dessert. tricksta_p (5013) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - MAY 23, 2016
Bottle at home. Aroma is wheat, citrus, lemon, spicy yeast, coriander. Flavour is lightly sweet and a bit wheaty sour. Body is medium. Certainly above average for the style. SVD (2071) - NETHERLANDS - APR 14, 2016
Bottle at In de Karkol Maastricht. blond beer, medium head. Aroma is yeast, citrus. Taste is the same, average witbier Icedwarf (1759) - Etten-Leur, NETHERLANDS - MAR 20, 2016
Donkergeel bier zonder schuim. Bier is feitelijk "dood". Smaak is licht zuur en ietwat fruitig, lijkt echter niet op witbier. Valt erg tegen.

Bottle at De Heeren Van Liedekercke, march 12th 2015. Cloudy golden body with a lasting white head. Aroma is sweet and lactic with wheat and spicy yeast esters. Taste is citric and sweet, grassy at finish, pleasant bubblegum yeasty aftertaste. Grzesiek79 (4381) - Radom, POLAND - MAR 14, 2016
Jedno z bardziej treściwych i wyrazistych witbirow. Polecam JefVerstraete (3562) - Oosterzele, BELGIUM - MAR 7, 2016
Bottle @ Billie’s Bierkafetaria. Hazy yellow, white foam. Nose of citrus, orange peel, caramel. Yeasty with notes of coriandar. Ok witbier. TheKernOwl (215) - West Sussex, ENGLAND - FEB 29, 2016
Orange peel (or mandarin skin?) and slight bubble gum esters, coriander spice (or grapefruit zest), “cola bottle” caramel sweetness and a slight seawater tang on the nose. Slightly too lively fizz before a full, slightly sour then fruity (oranges & lemons) finish. Probably one of the fruitiest, fullest wits I’ve ever had. melush (4414) - SPAIN - FEB 14, 2016
