Eh this was okay I guess but lacked oomph. Smelled of light smoke, wood, peat and nuts. Tasted more the same but lighter than the nose. Watery body with a lingering bitter/smoky finish. Forgettable and weak, especially for the style. Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - MAY 17, 2013
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy, deep brown colored body with an inch thick, dense and creamy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a heavy lacing. Aroma is lightly smoked and peaty with a lightly sweetened caramel malt backing. Some nuts, traces of fruit, and earth. Flavor is similar. Lightly sweetened caramels with touches of bread, toffee, and nuts up front before a balanced smokiness comes in. Some earth, a few fruits, and a slight woodiness before this finishes dry and moderately bitter. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent smoked beer. Nothing special, but balanced and easy drinking. meerbier (1474) - Pijnacker, NETHERLANDS - NOV 13, 2012
Brown, beige head, good lace. Lightly smoked, light sweet, light bitter, light nutty. Medium body. OK, but a bit weak in both aroma and taste.
