My Bottom Line:
This unpretentious Blond Ale serves a straightforward flavor profile of pale malts and herbal, leafy hops for a drinkable but perhaps unrefined pint.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the hazy hay blond.
-The cereal flavors are dominant until the finish, where leafy hop bitterness achieves balance.
-These cereal flavors are rustic; not your typically super clean profile you can get from tried-and-tested malteries.
-Mouthfeel is comfortable, made of ample effervescence and lean residual sugars.
-This isn’t very memorable for the style, but I get the impression this wasn’t the point either. This is an easy quaffer which will not fuel discussions.

pours a golden-orange with a decent but disappearing white head, no lacing. fresh cereals, light toastiness, citrus and spices - pepper. oranges. earthyness, light but present grassy-citrusy hops. soft carbonation, light body. decent.

Bought this by accident confusing with a better beer. Smells like nothing really, or I don’t have a nose. There’s nothing overtly wrong here. Ends up a little sour after a few sips. Pours cloudy at least and head retains. Soft carbonation. Isn’t bad at all for what it is, really. Bottle from Peluso d-pan.

(Rating #3770)

Bottle: Poured a lightly hazy color ale with a large slightly off-white foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of clean crisp cereal with lightly dry hoppy notes. Taste is very refreshing with a very nice malt profile with clean cereal notes with a dry hoppy finish that is quite enjoyable. Body is quite full with good bottle conditioning and good carbonation. Very well brewed with great drinkability factor.

Clearish dark golden ale wearing a gentle white film. Highly cerealic, grainy and kinda rustic and charming since it brings original vanilla and hay-like notes and limited sugars, translating in mouth in a gentle toasty dryness. The hops, albeit light, provide a fun lemon zest and spicy side, never bold, but always well executed. The carbonation is prickly, a bit biting, perhaps it could be a little more refined, either playing the very active crispiness role or feeling a bit less invasive. Not a revolution like some other Quebec golden ales have been, but a pleasant straightforward ale that while remaining simple, has a certain terroir to it. In other words, most people around here will hate it.

Bottle. Aroma of fresh cereal, honeyed malt. Feels like a good summer brew. Taste: Packed with very fresh cereal, hop presence brings a sharp and refreshing bitterness. No evident flaw here. Palate: Medium body and med-low carbonation. Could be more lively. Overall: Pretty much as good as it can be for a bottle version of the style. Awesome surprise, my expectation were quite low since it was La Chouape. I’d buy this more often if it wasn’t only made in the overprice format.

Bottle. Big lasting head on dirty amber. interesting dusty aroma, hints of yeast, soft spice and wet straw. Very light flavour. Rough aftertaste. Like the end of tasting compilation of unfished beers and rinse water. Ghosts of beers past. Faint lemon, banana and dishwater. Not strong enough good flavours and unfortunate bad notes creeping in. Messy for style.

500ml bottle, clean amber color, with a thick bubbly white head, light earthy crunchy toasted, pale cereal malt nose, with a fruity ripe old apple yeasty, doughy accent, with a soft honey granola bar, apple pie crust note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied plate with a yeasty, faint stewed apple fruity, earthy sweet mellow toasted, pale cereal maltiness character, with a honey cookie dough, light honeyed granola bar flavour, and a subtle flowery earthy leafy hop undertone, leading towards a fruity ripe apple sauce yeastiness, light honeyish toasted, caramel, pale maltiness finish.
