3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
What's not to like about a beer like La Chouffe? Looks great and has a refreshing taste. A consistently good Belgian blonde. The alcohol strength is actually masked quite well.

A nice Belgian Blond that is relatively easy to find outside of Europe. Good taste, slightly lingering aftertaste. Quite enjoyable on a sunny warm day.

La Chouffe blond is one of my favorite relatively easy to come by belgian blondes. Very true to style and very balanced for my palate. Furthermore, there is a gnome on the bottle. Delish.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle with expiry date 07-2018. Light golden colour, hazy, small head that quickly disappears. Aroma is quite much apricot, plum, also some alcohol. Light bitterness. Lively carbonation. OK, but nothing spectacular.

Very classically Belgian. Light, golden colour. Some esters. Some fruity funk. Very light for 8%.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
33 cl. bottle @ Home.
Aroma: not very intense aromas of grains, cereals, slightly kilned malts. Hints of wheat, grapes, spices, citrus. No hints of alcohol.
Appearance: straw to light golden color, slightly hazy, very high head thickness. Perfectly white head, made of big sized bubbles, very creamy. Medium Brussels’ lacing. Very high retention. Many tiny bubbles moving up from the bottom of the glass to the head.
Taste: medium sweetness, low bitterness, low sourness. Pleasant flavors of malts, grains, cereals with hints of citrus, spices, fruits, grapes, caramel. Alcohol level is very well hidden and not noticeable. Balance is on the malts’ sweetness side.
Palate: medium body, oily texture, medium carbonation, quite long sweet finish with flavors of slightly kilned malts, grains, cereals, with hints of spices, grapes, fruits, citrus peel.
Overall: very refreshing and pleasant flavors. Excellent appearance and amazing retention. Alcohol not noticeable despite of its high level. Good aromas and flavors of slightly kilned malts, grains, cereals, malt sweetness, citrus peel, fruits, spices. Good beer.

Bière dorée au nez épicé. En bouche elle est épicée et alcoolisée. Un classique des bière belge. Bonne bière.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
330 ml bottle. Hazy honey amber colour brew. 3 finger long-lasting white head. It is clearly seen how lots of minute bubble streams are spouting from bottom of the glass. Aroma: loads of ripe apricots, orange zest, caraway, coriander, clove, soapy phenols. Flavor is intense fruity spiciness, dried apricots, citrus peel, lots of clove again. Low alcohol warmth. Dry & very spicy aftertaste. (OMG! So much zest and clove again!) That goes without saying, we’re a dealing with a solid Belgian guy, but I cannot name it a supreme BSA for it’s so damn spicy. It’s like a heavywheight witbier-y motherfcuker. Overall, that’s a pleasant experiense.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 26, 2017 (From the keg) Pours a hazy straw-yellow, with fine carbonation, and a dense white head. This beer has a hop-heavy aroma, with lots of candied lemon peel. This is balanced by sweet caster-sugar malts, and hints of fresh bread and cereal. The beer quickly takes on a highly vinous quality: hints of oak-aged brandy and apricot kernel develop into tart grape skins, green apple, and juniper berry. The finish is dry, becoming increasingly tart, leaving a pleasant sour fuzziness on the tongue.
A very pleasant, smooth beer, which makes easy drinking.

Pours a slightly cloudy yellow to light amber. Aroma is ripe bananas, raisins and pineapple with light caramel malts lurking. Taste is quite sweet with a long, boozy bitter finish. Strong flavoured strong beer.
