La Choulette Ambrée is the classic amber version of a French bières de gardes. It has a wonderfully spicy aroma and is fullflavored, but effervescent and refreshing.

Fresh malts caramel salty fruity aroma. Amber brown minimal head. Medium body, sweet amber, starts carbonated then gets kinda molassesy like a heller bock, but without any booziness. Finish is light but nice. I imagine this would be a nice table beer with dinner.

adamnowek (2714) - Brussels, BELGIUM - APR 9, 2016
Nice and clear bronze colour with a reasonably sized white head. Aroma is caramel and malts. Taste leads a bit sweet with some malts, burnt sugar, and a bit of plum.

hman43 (1588) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - APR 8, 2016
It pours a hazy amber color with a off white almost tannish head. It has a rich, malty, aroma that features bread, dark fruits, toffee, and alcohol. It has a malty rich taste of bread, toffee, a bit of roast, spices, and alcohol. It has a heavy feel to it with a slightly sweet, the bitter aftertaste with alcohol warming.

Zlotta (3282) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - MAR 9, 2016
0.33 l bottle from ’Saveur Bière’, best before june 2017. Clear, amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan to white head. Faint, sweetish-malty, minimally fruity aroma of caramel, nuts, rock candy, overripe banana and some raisins. Sweetish-malty, minimally fruity taste of caramel, nuts, rock candy and some raisins, followed by a short, slightly bitter, yeasty and slightly warming finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Decent, not very special.

3.4
Idiosynkrasie (7516) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAR 7, 2016
330ml bottle. Clear, dark amber colour with average, thick, fairly lasting and lacing, white head. Fruity aroma delivers a plethora of red and blue berry notes, additional notes of sweet and sour cherries as well as a touch of plum. Taste is moderately sweet, slightly sugary, fruity, notes of cherry, hints of plum, all with a minimally artificial jelly bear touch; leafy overtones in the finish. Unsatisfying discrepancy between aroma and taste.
