COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Choulette Ambrée is the classic amber version of a French bières de gardes. It has a wonderfully spicy aroma and is fullflavored, but effervescent and refreshing.

330ml bottle. Clear, dark amber colour with average, thick, fairly lasting and lacing, white head. Fruity aroma delivers a plethora of red and blue berry notes, additional notes of sweet and sour cherries as well as a touch of plum. Taste is moderately sweet, slightly sugary, fruity, notes of cherry, hints of plum, all with a minimally artificial jelly bear touch; leafy overtones in the finish. Unsatisfying discrepancy between aroma and taste.

Thank you Mathieu87 & PriorL! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Mathieu’s house cooling party”. BBF 03.03.2015. GUSHER. Dark amber with no head. Nose is spoiled bread & massive oxidation, stale bread & big wet cardboard, raisin,… Taste is hugely oxidized, old cardboard, wet cardboard, raisin, sugar, old butterscotch candy, touch watery, toffee,… Body is guar, stale bread & cardboard. Wet cardboard & other oxidation notes are excessive, totally dominating. Not liking it, this one didn’t keep unfortunately despite the style.

75 cl [email protected] in footed [email protected] 9 degrees C. Pours almost clear dark amber with medium tan head with ok retention and little lacing. Malty aroma with a hint of yeast, caramel and spices. Mouthfilling taste on the sweet, malty and bready side. Medium body with average carbonation. Much more pleasant than any other ambree I have had for years. Actually enjoyed this one!

(Kind of like a dubbel with less "Belgian" yeast character) Hazy copper. Smells like toffee, cereal, and a little metal. Just off-dry, low bitterness, a little sour at the end. Tastes like toffee, cereal, a tiny bit of licorice and grass. Medium body with lower carbonation and not much head. No ash character, no alcohol. Super smooth but very flavorful. Malt-forward with medium yeast character but not boring, too sweet, or unbalanced. Delicious.

Bottle. Clear amber colour. Quite toasty malty character, also decent sweetness. Then earthy grassy hops, some alcohol, lightly spicy. Quite good.
