La Choulette Ambrée is the classic amber version of a French bières de gardes. It has a wonderfully spicy aroma and is fullflavored, but effervescent and refreshing.

Amber color. Almost stinks. Some malt taste. Worse than La Choulette Blonde.

Rasmus40 (20318) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 31, 2011
Hazy amber with an off-white head and small floaties. Aroma is quite sweet, malty, fruity, yeasty, spicy and alcohol. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. High carbonation. 310711

Test vom 21.8.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,12,11,14,13,12 - 12,10

Amber with a small offwhite head. Nutty aroma. Malty, nutty flavor, mixed with some nice bitterness.

Bottle from Carrefour, Calais Won the Medaille d’Or Paris 2004 according to the sticker label on the bottle. Reddish amber colour with a caramel/white head. Lots of malt on the nose and some kind or freshly washed green vegetable? Lots of caramel malt in the flavour and the sweetness is balanced by the relatively astringent hop finish. Excellent balance, will buy again when I go to France next week.

saxo (18208) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - AUG 22, 2007
Bottle. Medium head with medium duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are sweet malt, fruits and spices.

chrisv10 (17308) - DENMARK - AUG 5, 2011
Bottle. Dark amber/brown with big tan head. Flavour is malt, fruit, hops, spices, little bitter, caramel, rip fruit, bread, little metallic and yeast.

Oakes (17274) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 6, 2001
Firm, malty, with a touch of vanilla and a good, understated yeasty note. Well-crafted. Damn this brewery kicks ass.

Dedollewaitor (16056) - Odense, DENMARK - AUG 3, 2008
33cl bottle. Pours dark amber/brown with a creamy head & lacings. Aroma is pleasant, dakr fruits & caramel. Medium & smooth palate. Tiny bready & metallic note. Other than that quite good. Vinous & round. The best in the La Choulette series!

FatPhil (15966) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 14, 2007
750ml bottle (One Pint, Helsinki, Belgian Beer Weeks 2007). For all the malt-lovers out there. Rich ruddy brown colour, and a taste to match. Sweet caramel malts are dominant, but with enough nuttiness and spiciness to make it quite interesting and not 1-dimensional. Did I mention huge amounts of malt?
