La Choulette Ambrée is the classic amber version of a French bières de gardes. It has a wonderfully spicy aroma and is fullflavored, but effervescent and refreshing.

Dedollewaitor (16178) - Odense, DENMARK - AUG 3, 2008
33cl bottle. Pours dark amber/brown with a creamy head & lacings. Aroma is pleasant, dakr fruits & caramel. Medium & smooth palate. Tiny bready & metallic note. Other than that quite good. Vinous & round. The best in the La Choulette series!

Benzai (15930) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - APR 6, 2013
Bottle shared @ WWT II. Clear amber red color, small to medium sized off-white head. Not much aroma. Taste malts, lightly fruity, lightly iron, grape-peel. Medium body, medium to fullccarbonation.

MiP (15920) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - APR 21, 2009
Bottle, 8%. Weak phenolic aroma, band aid. Nice clear dark chestnut colour. Good stable light brown head. The flavour is also phenolic, and worse than the aroma. Band aid, chemical, strange liquorice. Genuine Choulette quality :/

bhensonb (15352) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 17, 2008
750 ml bottle (Dec 07) from Monument in Concord, CA. Spicey, roasted caramel aroma. Dark amber color that didn’t last long, and neither did the white head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is caramel, almost hinting of cola. Clean, crisp and refreshing. Rather mild, but there is enough bitter to balance the malt. A very calm and relaxing experience. Good stuff.

3.5
Scopey (14992) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 10, 2012
Bottle at Sous-Bock, Paris. It pours amber, with a long-lasting thick beige head. The nose is caramel, wood, leather and spice. The taste is caramel, wood, very spicy, earth, some dark fruit, metallic, brown bread, leather and some warming alcohol, with a dry, spicy finish. Medium body and fizzy champagne-like carbonation. A great biere de garde.

imdownthepub (14776) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 18, 2012
Bottled, 330ml from Carrefour, Coquelles, France. Amber with white head. This proved to be quite a sweetish, caramel beer, toffee but with a yeasty spiciness and light lemonade note. Pleasant and easy drinking, quite decent.

3.2
Borup (14728) - Albertslund, DENMARK - JUL 12, 2014

Bottle. Frothy white excellent mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Heavy malty and light hoppy aroma. Cramellic notes. Moderate sweet and light bitter flavor. Average slightly perfumed finish. Oily palate. A little boring beer but ok.

3.4
Lubiere (13992) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 9, 2012
A reddish amber ale with a thick lacing mocha head. In aroma, a sweet caramel with light grassy notes, light fruity esters, not bad. In mouth, a nice sweet malt with smooth grassy hops, nice and smooth nutty notes, light coffee, very nice. Bieropholie import. BB 01-12.

3.9
bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - NOV 8, 2005
(750ml bottle) Pours a reddish brown body with an average-sized off-white head. Malty aroma with notes of toffee, prunes, and dates. Compatible flavor of malt, dark fruits (prunes, dates, raisins), spicy yeast, and earthiness.
