COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La Choulette Ambrée is the classic amber version of a French bières de gardes. It has a wonderfully spicy aroma and is fullflavored, but effervescent and refreshing.

Brown colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have some sweet malts with obvious caramel. Yeasty bitter finish.

Flaska systembolaget. Gulorange vätska. Örtig och kryddig både i smak och doft. Jordkällare, jäst, spannmål och koriander. Torr och lite sträv munkänsla

A great beer to have regulary. Nice maltiness and a bit of spice. Finished smooth with a tiny caramel sweetness. A good drink.

Brown coloured. Sweetish, malty, woody nose and flavour. Full bodied and complex.

La Choulette Ambree reminded me of a bock beer, instead of a biere de garde. It has a sweet aroma and taste (again, like a demi-bock) and is fairly spicy and hoppy. If you're looking for a traditional biere de garde, I'd stick with La Bavaisienne instead.

750ml bottle. Light, sweet, sugary aroma, accented by a moderate amount of herbal hops with a noticeable tea leaf character, along with lighter hints of fresh wood and orange. Rosy red-orange color with a lasting, foamy, off-white head. Mildly spicy and bitter to start, seeing an influx of candyish malt sugary sweetness that figures highly into the overall effect, and for the finish a blend of mild berryish fruit and gentle hints of peppery alcohol, caramel, spices and vanilla frosting. Lively yet lightly syrupy on the palate with a medium body. At first, interesting, but the effect seems to wear off somewhat by the end of the bottle.

Amberish brown, with a nice long lasting head. Aroma is somewhat alcoholic and phenolic, a bit of burnt wood, spicy hops and a bit of caramel malt round out the flavor profile with just a hintof bittersweet fruitiness in the finish.

750ml @ Stone Brewing. Very sweet nose. Some spiciness, dark dried fruit. Nice medium amber color. Sweetness is evident with some spiciness. Pretty tasting but a tad too sweet

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2007 a different sort of beer. real fruity in its overall presence. very thin and smooth with its mouth feel. though it has a strong head the carbonation is rather flat. the taste is toffee with fruit. I like it
