very nice full bodied beer. alcohol is well disguised. sweet, and a little earthy. decent. beerbuzzmontreal (3487) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 29, 2005
Pours a hazy golden color with a thin white head and fair lacing. I smell some spices with fresh cut grass, hay and cantaloup. Interesting flavor of spices, herbs and cantaloup. There’s also a delicate farmhouse quality and a mild bitter finish. Light to medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation. I’m very surprised by this beer, the alcohol doesn’t show at all, it’s a beer that would gain to be more known. iambeer (255) - Ontario, CANADA - APR 27, 2005
The lack of alcohol taste was a good rate, espeacially with 7.5 %. Good head retention, and nice lacing. It was very drinkable and really nothing seemed to be off, but it just didn’t appeal that much to me. pootzboy (1713) - Kitchener, Ontario, CANADA - APR 26, 2005
330ml bottle. A golden slightly hazed ale with a moderate cap. Light lacing. Aroma is sweet but has musty alcohol tones like a smoked malt whisky. Good malt spine, silky mouth feel... toned back hops..sweet with fruity tones like peach or apricot in sweet cream...finish is wet with a musty, earthy decernment... interesting ale..very gentle and warming wnp22 (698) - Toronto (Roncesvalles Village), Ontario, CANADA - APR 26, 2005
Tasted in Toronto. Obtained from LCBO. Tasted in Maudite snifter. Appearance is deep golden with lively sustained head. Aroma is dry, spicy and has a nice floral component. Flavour has a spicy component, with a finishing bitterness that, for the alcohol level aproaches refreshing.

bottle. golden-orange colour, fluffy white head. aroma is slightly spicy, dusty hops. flavour is sweet with notes of butterscotch, and a touch of spiciness. It’s interesting, but doesn’t really do it for me. dornoy (701) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 18, 2005
Low white head on top of a dark yellow body. Fruity, with a seemingly predominance of lemon. Spicy too. Strong but no alcohol taste. Very drinkable, but not quite my favourite Bière de garde. Beer Snob (501) - Ontario, CANADA - APR 16, 2005
What a great aroma - mild, sweet and fruity without being cloying. Cloudy with no head, and a decent warming beer. Strong, smooth with a bit of bitterness after swallowing. Reminds me a bit of Duvel. Gorbalev (3000) - Ontario, CANADA - APR 13, 2005
Bottle, LCBO Spring Release 2005. Yellow pour, small white head. Fresh corn smell - not macro corn, but the smell of a freshly husked cob of corn. Taste was slightly sweet and spicy over a medium mouthfeel. This was a very unique beer that I will sample again to try and get a better handle on it. For now, points for being interesting.

A nice suprise found at the LCBO. GOlden body, thin and bubbly white head. Aroma is spices, floral and some citrus. Taste is a spicy bite accompanied by some honey and citrus flavours. Finish is crisp, and sharp.
My first bier de garde I think.
