A starkly white and full head is the harbinger of what’s to come for this beer. A nose full of sours and the color of royal walnut this beer floats on the taste bud, airy, tangy, a hint of brown sugar and cinnamon. Finishes with a subtle peanut shell bite. A delightfully crated beer. marcus (10890) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 21, 2010
Bottle from Healthy Spirits. Pours amber with a thick off-white head and a toffee aroma. There is a carbonated caramel malt flavor with candi sugar and spice. Good but not exceptional. jcr (2785) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - DEC 18, 2010
750 ml. Deep amber body with a big, frothy, foamy off-white head. The head slowly subsides to fizzy pools. Malty aroma with notes of cookie and caramel and a backbone of yeasty earthiness, though not pronounced. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Aroma is better than flavor with its muted spice flavors and a grain bill that seems in competition with them. The finish is close to unpleasant, leaving a lingering taste of raw grain in the mouth and in the mouthfeel. psilosophy (827) - vitry en artois, FRANCE - DEC 15, 2010
Tasted from a 750 mL bottle purchased in Denver, Colorado. Red orange appearance with lots dispersed sediment. A bit fruity medium body aroma. Bread-like flavor thats seems to be drawing a lot of flavor from the sediment. A bit of fruitiness that’s somewhat like sour oranges. Interesting but not my favorite.

12/1/10. 750mL bottle courtesy Lance. Caramelled raisin aroma and flavor with hints of bitter herbs and nuts... not bad! redlight (2325) - Orlando, Florida, USA - NOV 23, 2010
750 ml bottle. Caramel and brown sugar with some roasted marshmellows and caramelized dates with raisins. Pours a dark amber with a very thick white head, fluffy. Caramel malts, with grilled mission figs, with dark raisins and light molasses upfront but finishes surprisingly dry. wcampbell (721) - Clemson, South Carolina, USA - AUG 4, 2010
Aged for 2 to 3 years. Aroma is similar to a belgian or a saison. Lightly sweet and somewhat yeasty flavor. No bitterness. Medium bodied. Not a whole lot of complexity, but very good. JohnnyJ (5571) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 22, 2010
Got this 750 ml bottle for $6.50. Dated best before 20-3-09, tasted yesterday. Pours a deep slightly hazy amber, with creamy off-white head. Very rough and earthy.. lemon zest, hay, pear, leather, caramel malt, dirt, nuts, and light sweetness. I love the rough flavors and complexity, one of the better farmhouse style beers I have had.
