Pours a deep orange/ruby/amber. Light tannish head. Sweet, malty, spice nose. Sweet, plummy, spice, vanilla, dusty, light caramel, ripe fruit, chocolate, cinnamon, yeast, bretty, funky, bitter, herbal finish. Medium bodied, very well rounded, not overly spiced, very drinkable. I wish this was available all year. Dalle (1145) - Skørping, DENMARK - JAN 5, 2004
Brown colour w. nice head. Very malty, lightly spiced, pleasent mouthfeel, yummy. Sickboy282 (1116) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 20, 2005
Pours a golden amber hue with a small white head. Aromas and flavors of spice, malt, and honey. ajm (1072) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 15, 2008
Bottle from nbutler11 which he disliked compared to me. Aroma that is flowery and floury. Flavor is nicely balanced and sweeter than I would expect. Not as earthy as, say, the Southampton Garde. Brown apple, yeast, funk, weed, almond milk. bfeldmann (1050) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - MAR 28, 2008
Poured a copper color with cloudy head not much lacing. Aroma was very musty some carmel in there. Flavor was much the same, nuttyness. Good beer.

Bottle. Pour was brown/ruby. Aroma was lightly toasted malt with light caramel and some light cherry notes. Flavor was well blended with some slight must and hay in the back. Good brew. hapjydeuce (1002) - Carlsbad, California, USA - FEB 11, 2008
Shared by DenverLogan at the Pizza Port Bottle Shop with wetherel, thanks for sharing! Slightly hazy blond with some initial rocky white head. Somewhat musty cellar aroma with pear and orange citrus notes with a noticeable yeasty undertone. Sweet fruity flavors are pretty straight up and to the point, with a lightly bitter finish and lots of carbonation. Not bad. npdempse (934) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - DEC 27, 2005
Red/brown with a good-sized white head. Sulphury, earthy nose with notes of caramel, strawberries, and prunes. Light flavor, musty, somewhat sweet, with some fruity (strawberry, cherry notes) overlaid by a musty bitterness. afireinside96 (923) - Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 8, 2009
750ml bottle shared by BeerGestapo, thanks Mike. Poured with a dark amber body topped by a lasting large khaki head. It both smelled and tasted like Cracker Jacks, that it to say caramel and roasted nuts. Semi-sweet but not sticky or cloying.
