750ml bottle, right on the mark w/ "best before" date. Odd, off aroma upon opening. Huge, lacy head. Looks like raspberry bullshit to me, more brown than red or pink, but hey this isn’t a lambic. Taste is watered down (lake water) but finishes nicely. Just never tasted right to me, not enough to justify purchasing it again.

Bottle at Novare Res. Pours a deep red, with hints of amber coloring too. Head vanishes quickly. Aroma bites up front with tart raspberries. Flavor is neat, here’s what this does, the raspberries balanced with the malt in this beer make it almost like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It’s very carbonated, and very easy to enjoy, but a little peculiar. I like this a lot.

dirkules (629) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 3, 2005
bottled. deep red in colour and topped off with a frothy white head. There is a nice full raspberriness to the drink that avoids to trappings of fruit beers that come in floris or chapeau. Has more in common with Amsterdam really, but with a more distinctive beer body and less of a cola mouthfeel. Gets sweeter the further you go, but it’s not overwhelmingly so. Pretty Good!

Deep red color and large white head. Strong aroma of fresh raspberries. I couldn’t help but pick up some mustard aroma and flavors, not sure what was going on there. Bit of lambic like sourness, malty backing. I liked it but will likely be reevaluating this.

bottle. pours a ruby/brown with pinkish/white head. Artificial raspberry in the aroma. Bit funky. Light, watery, fizzy, highly carbonated, mildly fruity. The raspberry is quite mild, more of a white wine/champagne taste. I went back and forth on this, but overall a letdown. Quite dry.

AllAboutStout (605) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 16, 2008
Dark reddish brown in color. Very nice head, about an inch and a half, on the pour. Smell is raspberries, some vinous qualities, and some acidic notes as well.
It has a good mouthfeel. But there is a slight metallic flavor in the taste. Some very weak raspberry and hints of cherries. If it was bigger and more tart it would be better. This comes across very watered down.

Jabic (589) - Plainfield, Vermont, USA - APR 12, 2017
Ar: Tart raspberry, with a hint of tannic seeds; a touch of sugary simple syrup. Ap: Deep red and clear; medium off-white head with a slight pink tint; good retention, leaves a smallish cap of foam and suds, with a finely bubbled ring. T: Low sweetness with a pronounced raspberry note; a little artificial tasting, but there are some nice seed and tannins too, which keep it tasting somewhat of fresh fruit; very low bitterness, no hop flavor; finish is raspberry seeds and slight woodsiness. P: Medium-light body with high carbonation, finish is medium-dry. O: A solid fruit beer; the raspberry is definitely there, and there is enough sweetness and body to support and enhance the fruit flavor; otherwise, the beer is fairly plain, though solid enough and refreshing.

UNCCTF (584) - Cary, North Carolina, USA - MAR 12, 2004
Poured a deep red with a fluffy off-white head. This was way more like a beer than Lindemans or Boon, and it wasn't nearly as enjoyable. The flavoring came off as totally artificial.

doublebock (558) - California, USA - AUG 1, 2007
Aroma is sweet and fruity. Appearance is ruby amber with little to no head. Palate is rather flat. Taste is overwhelmingly sweet and rasberry followed by a sharp tartness.

Bottle in Fl. Very sweet aroma. Raspberry flavor is not too sweet. Good carbonation. Enjoyed more than expected after initial whiff.
