COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our first (and my first as well) Dortmunder Export. Just slightly darker than a pilsner or a helles, this is the fullest bodied of the German-style pale lagers and also the strongest. Full-bodied with a minerally dryness and a very balanced hop character, this beer strikes a nice chord for the true lager drinker. Finding examples of this style has gotten harder and harder.

Sampled at GABF 2016 with Paul and Larry. Pours a clear golden body with soft white lacing. Nose is soft cat piss and grass. Mouthfeel is clean, light bodied and sessionable with notes of fresh grass, clean malt, spice, corn and soft hop. Reminiscent of Victory Prima Pils.

Tap @ Brewery. Pours deep-golden with a nice biscuity and earthy aroma. Malt and hops are well-balanced, with malt stepping forward on the palate. Perfect amount of CO2. Slightly stronger in alcohol than Pilsners and Munich Helles, making it a perfect winter lager. I like this sytle, and you won’t be disappointed with LC’s version. Nice job!

On tap at the brewery. Yellow in color with a small white head. Flavor is crisp and moderately bitter with some notes of yeast. Full bodied with creamy mouthfeel. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a Dortmunder and this is great.
