Bottle at C&R Pre-GBBF Tasting 2017. It pours clear deep mahoaganny brown with a small beige head. The aroma is earthy, woody, toasted malt, bit of funk/dirt, must, Irn Bru and jam. The taste is slick, oily, bitter - sweet, juicy fruits, toasted grain, wood earth, toffee and stewed apple with a slick and warming finish. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Pretty good fun. Sweet grain and bread malts, caramel, dark molasses. Hazy brown, small, creamy, beige head. Light sweet. More sweet grain and caramel malts, molasses, soft carbonation, full bodied. Nice Barley Wine, rich and complex. Bottle at Chriso & Ruth’s pre-GBBF shindig, Kensal Rise. ironcontra (362) - POLAND - AUG 11, 2017
Honey aftertaste is the distinguishing feature from the BW mold, some lemon, bread, surprisingly carbonated for a BW (it’s even got some head!), the alco is nonetheless poorly hidden jinroh (2004) - ESTONIA - AUG 6, 2017
Bottle shared at Chriso’s and Ruth pre GBBF shindig, August 5, 2017. Pours amber, quite clear .Grainy bitterish nose, rowans. Bread dough with rye. Taste is syrupy although not that sweet. Rye spices are quite strong. Overall bit harsh but can drink this. erikaraeb (262) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 5, 2017
Sweet rye, grass, and almost some corn tortillas? Bitter finish. Medium bod, not too sweet, and very drinkable for a BW. Would not guess it’s 12% abv. Thin head sticks around with tiny bubbles.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Hazy dark russet dark red colour lasting beige head. Rich malty aroa with a touch of puke malty sweet. Toast. Some jammy fruit. Just not great in aroma. Good in mouth like the other beers from this brewery and some bitter hops on the finish. Its like semilina and jam on aroma reminds me of school desserts and makes me want to vomit. Rest of thd beer is very decent. Good jammy fruit good pippy hoppy bitterness. Just cant get past that aroma. Maarten1993 (1326) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - JUN 28, 2017
Drank 28-6-17 while writing. Quite sweet, but a bit thin. There is something a bit unpleasant here, a lot of overwhelming maltiness and sweetness. Like the beer can’t make up its mind between an English or an American barleywine. lbianchi66 (417) - FRANCE - JUN 3, 2017
