750mL bottle, lickbho. There just isn’t enough Biere de Garde in my life. Pours a clear gold with a large, fluffy white head. The aroma is great, biscuity cereal grains with a load of peppery hops and a really nice sharp floral character with a hint of citrus. Flavour has a lot of sweetness, grainy biscuit, black pepper zing in the finish from the hops, as well as an earthy undertone. Hardly a trace of any booze, and the yeasty esters develop as I drink more of this. There’s something about this style that just really works for me. Douai is also right around the corner from Arras, one of my favourite places on the globe. I plan on getting more of this awesome brew. dwyerpg (6188) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - AUG 7, 2008
A little earth to the aroma. This is also quite nice. A bit of coating to it, dryness in the finish and sweet up front. maltdog (626) - New Mexico, USA - AUG 30, 2010
750ml swingtop. Pale gold or straw colored and two fingers of the fluffiest smooth white foam I’ve seen. Malt, sweet grass, peppery/spicy and horsey funk aromas abound. Sort of perfumey. Unexpectedly sweet… wonderfully fruity-spicy; plum, licorice, baked apple, Riesling, melon, nutmeg, sumac seeds, pepper. Yeast character is similar to some Unibroue beers. Sweet yet light palate and surprisingly little carbonation. Dry finish and warming alcohol. Lingering mild herbal bitterness and an almost honey-and-raspberry aftertaste. Finally, a BdG with character!!! This is what I expect from the style. Epic. Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - MAY 28, 2009
Bottle courtesy of boutip. Pours gold with a rocky off white head. Smells of wildflowers, perfume, grassy, funky, dry. Tastes spicy and floral with a nice crisp dry spicy finish.

Toffee and fig nose. Light grassy hints. Clear amber, headless. Starts off with malty toffee, like an English bitter. Strongly musty pear and apple core finish. Nice transitions and balance. Delightful all around. cyrenaica (1126) - Milton, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 18, 2014

The beer pours a copper-tinged gold with a this white cap. Aroma is light fruits, sweet malt, must and yeast. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is very musty with yeast, tart fruits, and some burnt wood. Quite enjoyable.
Unclear orange with a lasting white head. Yeast dominated aroma with bubblegum, pepper, and exotic fruits like mango, melon and pineapple. Dry fruity flavour with a pepper-y dry finish. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - OCT 4, 2008
Pours a clear light amber, decent head lasts well and throws a good lace. Aroma was quite yeast accented, spicy and a bit woodsy. Flavor is caramel accented malts, an undefined fruitiness, lots of yeastiness, spicy, woodsy, and a nice bitter hop finish. The yeast is actually rather reminiscent of Unibroue’s house note, which was the first time I had remembered encountering that in a non-Unibroue brew. Nicely done, quite tasty in fact. Should not that this was more of a Belgian Strong than a Biere de garde in flavor. bhensonb (15253) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 3, 2010
750 from Malt & Vine. Pours copper with a foamy off-white head does some ringy lacing. Lush aroma of fruit over caramel. Near full bodie with foamy carbonation. Flavor is woody, fruity, and followed by warm caramel. Then something like mildly bitter oak. It finishes almost dry and definitely bitter. It’s a pretty good drink. Love the style, and this is a good one.
