on tap on the premises. unclear dark brown pour with a small creamy beige head offering some retention and lacing. lots of spicy caramel maltiness infused in bourbon-soaked chips, cloying sweetness - chocolate syrup, faint grassiness, relatively clean english yeast action. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily; sweet burnt spicy caramel finish. subpar imperial stout.

On tap at Mondial de la bière Montréal 2015. A black beer topped by a minimal dark beige head. Roasted aroma with dark chocolate and brown sugar. Some hints of licorice too. It’s full-bodied, quite dry and with a pleasant carbonation level. Roasted flavor with dark chocolate and licorice. Some bitterness too. Lasting roasted finish. Sure a nice one, although sort of one dimensional. 150611

Drank on tap at the 22th Mondial de la Bière on June 12, 2015. Black ruby, thin head. Dark barley malt aroma, a bit of fruitiness. Far more flavorful taste, with notes of bitter coffee and berries, fair bitterness. It could have been a bit better, but it’s still good!
