on tap on the premises. almost clear light but bright gold with a very creamy white head. honeyed maltiness helped by noble grassiness, spicy toastiness, no caramel per se, wort sweetness. moderate carbonation, light body -oily; slightly under attenuated grassy finish. kinda sweet and basic blonde ale.

On tap at the source. Slightly hazy golden bubbly white head. Sweet bread with a hint of fruit and earth. Serviceable blond.

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2016 My Bottom Line:
Citrus fruit and lean bread crusts intertwine in this sometimes crisp, sometimes limp Golden Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the misty pale blond.
-Get this on a handpump with natural carbonation and it would compete with some of England’s best Golden Ales.
-Hops are also floral throughout.
-This is not your generic ‘Blond’ brew, even though that’s what it parades as on their board. It’s a characterful quencher which doesn’t taste like any other in Quebec.
-A 2016 pint proved to be very different from the previous one. A paltry shadow of the brightness I had liked a lot in the 2014 pint. Faded hoppiness, touch of diacetyl, limp cereals... Unrefined, to say the least. Need to bring the points down a bit...

On tap at the brewpub in 2014 and 2016.

On tap at brewpub. A slightly hazy orangeish pale golden with a short lived white head. Aroma is malt and herbs. Flavor is pils malt, wheat flour. Finish is some weak herbal hops. Lingering herbal notes. Medium body, soft mouthfeel, weak to medium carbonation.

(Rating #4544)

In short: An entry-level blonde ale packing a lot fresh cereals a some fruity/citric hops. Acceptable refreshing beer. Just ok.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Partly cloudy blonde body topped by a white ring of foam
In long: Nose of fresh cereals with fruity yeast esters and light notes of fruity hops. Taste packs a good amount of fresh chewy cereals, light hay sensation, some refreshing tropical fruits, very light citrusy hops notes , a mild refreshing tartness and a mild but sharp fruity bitterness.. Appropriate medium carbonation. This is pretty much what I expect from a respectable entry level brewpub blonde ale. One of the too many beers we had on our table, and being my clumsy self I spilled beer all over myself, but I saved face by screaming "Hey everybody! Drinks are on me!"
