Shared bottle at Cardinal. Pours a hazy, pale straw golden body with a two fingers thick, foamy white head. Biscuits, wood, spices and ripe sweet fruit on the nose. Medium to heavy carbonation. Full body. Sweet flavor with light pepper notes and malts. Alco warmth. Syrupy texture and smooth to drink.

Bottle. Cloudy with lots of residue. Very interesting aroma of citrus, with hints of apple. Taste of citrus and hops, quite complex yet light. No sign of alcohol. Very nice beer, I was pleasantly surprised.

Currently drinking while typing. Aroma is malty and yeasty primarily with a nice touch of floral hops in there too. Also alot of alcohol, banana, apricot, spice and gentle vanilla. Lovely big white foamy long lasting head with an appealing golden hazy body of beer underneath. The taste is nice and malty, yeasty, fresh hops, cereals, booziness and various spice with an aftertaste that stays for a while and is mainly malty, maybe a bit of wheat in there too. Suitable carbonation with a medium body and smooth texture, a nice lasting finish sets this beer as a refreshing summertime brew. Good 9% tripel variety going by what is printed on the bottle and it is exactly that, not sure why the information is different here. Maybe it has changed since but either way a nice beer for summer beer replenishment!

Pours amber with lots of big chunks of sediment floating round. Nose shows candi sugar, golden syrup, sweet bread and fruit cake. Incredibly sweet smelling. Flavours include the same sweet bready malt and candi sugar. Way too sweet and cloying.

Bottle. Deep clear golden color with a huge white head. Pleasant aroma of slightly spicy yeast, some fruitiness and some spicy hops. Flavor starts sweet with malt, fruits, and light honey hints and continues drier and spicy with some hops and alcohol in the finish. Medium-bodied. Not bad. would have been nice if it was just a tad drier, but still not bad.

DeliriumT (534) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JAN 30, 2012
Pretty good Belgian pale similar to westmalle but with an interesting kick of vanilla and lacking the heavy caramel hit. Pours a nice orange/amber colour with suspended yeast in the brew. The taste is a soft caramel and vanilla with a healthy dose of carbonation (perhaps a little too much) and just a couple less spices than you pick up from the best Belgian pales (delirium tremens, orval etc).
