The people who have floating yest in their bottles obviously had badly handled bottles and shouldn’t rate them. I had this beer on cask in the brewery in Melle. A gigantic 2.5 finger head gives way to gorgeous Belgian lace that clings to the glass. The nose is of ripe pears, pepper, damp earth, and a subtle hint of mangos. The taste is spot on belgian strong. The spicy phenolic blast is unbelievalbly smooth, the ester profile excellent. There is a cleanly balanced bitterness that drops away quickly with a low-medium hop aroma gives way to a clean finish. It is not too sweet, not cloying at all...this is an excellent beer, better than DT and on par with Duvel Triple Hop, De Graal, and Augstijn grand cru.

On tap at Bangers & Lace., Bready medium bodied Blonde Ale with a good strong alcohol kick. Moderately effervescent. Strong but bright. However, not particularly flavorful, would be better if it were sweeter. Barely above average, and below average by Belgian craft standards.

Bottle 33cl. Solid Belgian beer, but not for wow. Pretty bottle design, I like it.

Draught. Clear golden pour. Nose: powerful malts, fruit, spicy yeast. Similar taste. OK still not impressive

A blond beer with thick foam. Taste of grains, bread and and citrus. I find there’s a lack of colour in the taste but the beer drinks down quite quickly and is refreshing / asks for more. There is a lack of complexity / a lack of mystery to the beer and quite unbalanced.

Bottle 0.33L. Slightly hazy, deep golden body with a huge, creamy, off-white head, mostly lasting with nice lacing; high density of tiny particles. Moderate-to-heavy hoppy (grapefruit, flowers), light-to-moderate malty (caramel, grains) and yeasty aroma with notes of spices and alcohol. Moderate bitter, light-to-moderate acidic and sweet flavour; long lasting harsh finish. Medium body with oily texture; soft carbonation; light astrincency in the finish.

Draft. Coasters. Aroma of candi sugar and light phenols. Some fruity esters asbit warms. Clear gold. No head. Tatse is mostly phenolic pepper and a light subtle honey malt note. Decent but kind of bland.

Butelka do 10.2017. Wygląd - jasno pomarańczowe, zmętnione, z obfitą biała pianą. Aromat - słody, kukurydza, wychodzący alkohol, można wyczuć żelazo. Smak - chlebowość, słody, drożdże, owoce. Odczucie w ustach - wysycenie od średniego do wysokiego, pełne ciało, dość słodkie. Alkohol mocno wyczuwalny.

Bottle from Pezinská pivná pumpa. Oh yes, this will chop your head of easily. Classic Belgian strong ale just as I like it. I wonder how this taste typical for bb is actually called.

19Oracolo78 (193) - ITALY - MAR 2, 2017
Birra dal colore dorato. Schiuma bianca, pannosa e moderatamente persistente. All’olfatto sentori fruttati, frutta candita e mashmallow. Al palato corpo medio con note dolci, di caramella gommosa alla fragola, frutta candita. Birra interessante soprattutto per il suo elevato tenore alcolico che non si sente per niente.
