Colour and sight: Golden blond, multigrain beer with a very persistent, lacing head.

pivo (2688) - GERMANY - SEP 19, 2002
Real doughy nose with hints of yeast. Hazy orange-gold color. Quick diminishing head. Fruity, melon-like; spicey, nutmeg; slight bitter end. Thin-ish with a round mouth feel. Good balance but not overwhelmingly good.

TipsyMcStager (1139) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 5, 2003
Wonderful Belgian aroma - spices, fresh bread, cookie dough. Pours an orange-yellow, cloudy with a nice head. Palate is lively with a thick body. Can really taste the alcohol. Finish is a bit flat. Overall a satisfying beer worth trying.

sayravai (4711) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 25, 2004
(Bottled) Hazy golden color with a big head. Sweetish, yeasty and fruity aroma with berries. Sweet, yeasty berry flavor. Medium-bodied, somewhat carbonated, dryish palate. The initial impression is very good, but after the first few sips, the flavor gets a bit boring. A vey nice brew, but still below average as a Belgian strong ale.

rickgordon (3878) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 18, 2005
Bottled. Hazy golden. Warming, sweetish aroma from exotic fruits and spices. Flavour is more toned down, with a sweetish malt presence and not much else. Still an elegant brew.

Miguel (1181) - Saint-Ours, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 12, 2005
Robe blonde voilée aux reflets orangés et surmontée d’une mousse généreuse. Arômes d’épices, de malt, de levure. Corps bien présent.

Bottled. Hazy orange colour with sediments floating around. Big white creamy head. Fruity and wheaty aroma. Fruity wheaty and a bit alcohol in flavour. Some soapy hints also noteable occasionally. Hides ABV well, though you note there is some.

vanvenlo (1913) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - MAY 1, 2006
21 Mar 2006 - Sweet apricot hoppy malt aroma. Light yellow colour with some yeast suspension. Big hoppy, light sweet, a touch of aniseed, amongst other spices. Sweet lingering hoppy finish.

Gorbalev (3000) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 28, 2006
Bottle shared with Blankboy, Hogtown Harry, and Dave, courtesy of Blankboy. Light yellow, big white head. Wonderful yeast, lemon, and alcohol in aroma. Taste is Ok but a little bland: spicy, sharp, lemon zest, yeast, very dry. Alcohol is present. Nice standard style stuff.

DarkMagus (560) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 30, 2006
Hazy golden color, huge rocky white head, a small amount remains on the surface after some time, with a thich ring of foam around the glass. Mouth-watering yeasty, fruity aroma--a definite "breadiness", but alongside fresh fruits (apples, pears, peaches). Pretty powerful. Big flavors of predominantly sweet malts, yeast and fruits balanced by a touch of hops. Surprisingly no trace of the 9.0% abv. Mouthfeel was initially a bit sticky and syrupy, but was not powerful enough to bring out the flavors. A bit too "light" perhaps... easy to drink but only because it seemed to instantly disintegrate. A bit dry at the finish. But I felt like this beer needed more of a punch. Overall not too bad, but nothing too special.

3.4
Grovlam (4253) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 5, 2007
Bottle. Large bubbly off-white head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Somewhat cloudy orange yellow color. Aroma of spice, coriander, underlying fruit and caramel. Hint of orange peel. Medium to full bodied with an average carbonation and alcoholic texture. Moderated sweet with notes of bitter and acidic. Sweet and spicy like finish.
