My Bottom Line:Lubiere (14133) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 12, 2013
Subtle peat smoke rises through this Old Ale’s lush body, lifting caramelized raisins and delicate roastiness to very pleasurable heights.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the purplish brown.
-The mouthfeel is rich yet doesn’t feel too heavy.
-This is all about the malts. Feels good for a change!
-Alcohol is not a bother at all in the flavor profile.
-This is probably my favorite Korrigane brew so far!
On tap at the brewpub.
A dark reddish brown ale with a thick creamy mocha head. In aroma, sweet peaty malt with dark fruits, light off sulfury notes, a bit strange. In mouth, sweet dark woody malt, lightly peaty, dark fruits, burned sugar, light fusel alcohol, veering on dunkelbock. En fût chez Korrigane. 7%. Couleur ambrée. Arômes de fruits rouges. Notes de houblon, alcool, fruits rouges mûrs et malt. Un peu de caramel et une finale avec une légère amertume. Bonne. Fred82 (2331) - Québec City, Quebec, CANADA - APR 14, 2011

Appearance : Cleasr amber with a very small head.
Aroma : Nice caramel and toffee. Light citrusy hops. Quite malty.
Taste : Light caramel with bitter and herbal hops. Light smoke on finish. A bit warm.
Overall : Not bad actually. The fact that this seems far from an Old Ale has got me distracted during my tasting of this beer but seeing that it’s filed under "Amber ale" here makes a bit more sense. I thought it was well made. Interesting caramel and hops.
on tap at brewpub. golden orange, slight haze with an ok-head. grainy, some wheat, sugary - some caramel malts. a little watery. and this odd aroma and taste - earthy yeast, barnyard and resinous-citrusy hops. very disappointing.
